Way to open 2010.  That was one of the more winnable games of the season.  And this year, it's not the bad shooting and lack of talent that's killing the team, it's the lack of fundamentals and crispness in general.  All year I've been cringing, watching this squad squeak out wins against the likes of Brown - if a turd team can get that close, a squad with real talent will sneak up and surprise you.

I hope that this game is a beginning of some kind of resolution - either the team gets better or the coach leaves.

Giving up 42 points in the second half?  After hanging with Georgetown?  That's a lack of concentration.

no continuity, no offense is run for anything inside, and we just play dumb....

We have more talent, it may not be great talent but it is better than what we are showing.  That's on coach, and it is never going to get better.  We have one more year with this crew before we blow it up and start over again.  Get someone in here who can coach these guys up properly.  I dont even care if he cant recruit, just coach them up.  Norm cant do neiter, so it doesnt matter.  Tired of watching garbage fundamentals, stupid plays and sloppy overall basketball.

BTW, Attn to the administration:  Norm isnt the only person in the world who can run a clean college basketball program

Dave, Thanks for a great vehicle to follow my once beloved Johnnies! That said, issues such as high turnovers, static offensive approach, poor in game coaching adjustments, reliance on steals and offensive rebounds, less than cerebral play, putting players in a position to fail and no strategeic innovation lead to the proverbial, "The buck stops here"! Or is the bizarro world??

We just lost to a bottom-feeder (and, they handled us in the 2nd half) and are now 0-2 in the conference.

Not to mention, we haven't even gotten into the meat of schedule.  This is gonna be ugly, folks.  I can feel it after losing today.

Not to hijack this thread....  It may not matter, but I'm done as a fan, if we happen to finish "ugly" and bring 'Stormin' Norman back for a 7th season.

Ouch....that hurt alot!!! Not ready to give up the Team..I move on 2 the next game. This game was home against Prov and we should have stepped on their throats. Disapointing!!! When we were up 28-20 and had the ball and kept turning it over...i had a bad feelin. F_cking Disappointed is all I can say....but I am not giving up on the season yet.

This team has talent and potential but its being used terribly. I chalk this one up to poor coaching and preparation. It makes me sick watching opposing coaches know exactly what we are going to do and we always look clueless. This isn't the first time nor is it the last. This speaks volumes.

That's it in a nutshell, Dave!  Spot on!

Norm isn't so lucky to have a Hatten-like player on his team to bail him out of his ridiculously, inept coaching.

As, you mentioned.... Other than a point guard.... There is enough talent on this team to be one of the top 6-7 teams in the conference.

But, we all know what's the issue at hand.

As long as they fire him after the season, I'm cool with losing now.
Monasch, just for supporting Norm, should be fired, too.

I would be fine with losing, IF I knew for sure that the powers that be were gonna fire Norm for having a crappy season.

I just have a hard time believing COACH will be released of his duties for having a crappy season.

The season is still fairly young, but I have a pretty good feeling a crappy season is upon us.

My favorite part was when Norm called time with 10 seconds in the shot clock. We then went out an passed the ball from side to side for 10 seconds bfore Horne had to heave up a shot that was an airball and led to a shot clock violation. Pretty funny stuff.
You can now also add Jim Sparnakel to Bobby Knight, Bill Raftery, Bucky Waters and Jay Bilas as announcers that wonder why we simply pass the ball from side to side around the perimeter.

The problem is that the powers that be need to be fired too.
