Lance Stephenson had owned Madison Square Garden over the past four years. He led Brooklyn's Lincoln High to four public school title games and won four championships on the hallowed floor. He returned Wednesday night as a Cincinnati freshman only to find out someone else has taken possession.
St. John's Dwight Hardy, who helped JFK High of the Bronx win the PSAL title the year before Lincoln's run started, is still having big games on the court. He scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half and made four free throws in the last 8.5 seconds to lift the Red Storm to a 52-50 victory, a desperately needed first Big East win of the season.
