There is talent on this team

Stop using that as an excuse for our losses. I think we criticize our players too much sometimes when they aren't put into the right situations to succeed. Paris Horne, DJ Kennedy, Dwight Hardy, Anthony Mason, Justin Burrell, Dele Coker, Sean Evans, and Justin Brownlee are all good.

Well for 4 years you did not want to hear how lousy Norm was ;) But honestly other than DJ, none of the other players you mentioned would start on UCONN.

We have talent that is being used improperly.  They are allowed to do things they shouldn't,  They aren't put in positions on the court and at times when they can succeed.  This all comes down to the coach.  A good D1 coach would be able to utilize 10+ guys on our team effectively, but with the Norm Roberts yank em unless you're one of my favorites way of coaching, only DJ and Boothe are allowed to do whatever they want...and that is part of why Boothe isn't succeeding like he could be.

What does starting on UConn have to do with anything? We are 10 guys deep and our starters are almost interchangeable. We have a lot of talented guys on this team who have different skills sets. I'd love to have my hands on this team to coach.

I also don't want to dwell on the Norm sucks topic all day everyday. I praise Norm as much as I criticize him. I give him every chance to succeed but lately I've been very unimpressed with preparation, rotations, utilization, and adjustments. Earlier in the year he did some pretty good things when I was down in Philly and I thought he'd fix some of the kinks out by conference play but he hasn't. It's so damn frustrating.

We have some talent, but come on Dave, we have no Jerome Dyson.
No Wes Johnson. No one capable of putting up 18-20 night in, night out.

We have a coach that has yet to recruit a program changer.

The only way Roberts can truly improve this program is to get fired.

I'm not disputing that nor do I think I ever disputed that. That still doesn't mean we don't have talent. No team in the Big East can boast about having as many capable players coming in and off the bench. There are ways to use that to our advantage but we don't. Also I wouldn't give Jerome Dyson that much credit he's no program changer.

UCONN is not all that good IMO and we have one player that would start for them. We are more talented than we have been in the past under Norm, but really is that really that impressive? Our 4 best offensive players all happen to basically play the same position.  Again the team is middle of the road BE talented with a D 3 coach. Bad recipe!

Don't we have a bet on your Paris Horne multiple 20 point games?

Generally I agree with you but otoh they still play like blockheads a lot of the time.

I am not a Norm hater or Lover, but common guys we lost last night because the U Conn players made shots and we did not. Plain & Simple.

Mason took 12 shots only made 3. Burrell took 6 most in the 1st half and was 1 for 6. Hardy was 1 for 6 from 3.

Our kids did not make the plays they needed to make to be successfull last night.

It is all going to fall on Norm in the end cause he is the coach, but he can not shoot the ball for the kids they need to make shots.

Yes but for instance last night Dele Coker and Sean Evans both had a turnovers at the top of the key beyond the 3 point line. WTF are they doing there in the first place? Do you see my point?

Again we scored 59 and average 61. We do not have a lot of offensive talent and the talent we have is being misused. You can look at game to game and explain why we don't score but the big picture is we have not scored since Marcus Hatten graduated.

You're right, Dave.....  Dyson is not a program changer and that is what makes Poison's comment so sad and true....  Because we do not even have a Dyson-like player on our team.

Yes, we have some talent....  But, most of the talent on this team is average, with a couple of decent players.

Haven't we averaged 60pts a year for Norm's tenure, regardless of who is on the team? Curious does anyone know?

I was @ the game and I feel the 1st half we did a lot of good things..the team played tite d n had a hand right in the faces of the uconn players..THEN uconn started making quicker passes and are d just didn't shift or get around screens quick enough wich led to open shots..uconn shot over 50% wich they rarely do!..I truly feel that if this game was @ msg we win..we never played good @ uconn that's nothing new..
Honestly I don't feel we have any players that start @ uconn dj isn't gonna start over jerome or stanley..not the point though we do have talent but we can't sit here and complain were not getting "program changers" because u don't get those unless you win!!..lance wouldn't of been a program changer..u have to get top 5 recruits to change a program immediatly..but if we win we can build our way up..kemba walker said if he knew st johns would win he woulda came!..its that simble!!

I feel instead of complainin bout the coach we need to support these kids!!!..they want to win but how do u think they feel if the gyms are empty and you here chants about firing th coach..we need to do more to support than complain its pathetic!! Make it to everygame you can and jus be as loud as you can in SUPPORT and heckle the other team!..get the kids excited about something!..I'm sure its not helping us getting any program changers to our school when the schools few fans seem to find more things bad then good..guys were 12-6..honestly the least wins I see us finishing with is 6 wich brings us to 18..plus nd isn't great this yr..loyola @ home?? We can beat lville pitt marquette and even wv there home games!..we need to be fans and try to inspire and back this team instead of giving up hope!

I partially agree with you.  I always go to games and support the team and root for them to win.  With that said, if we're coming down to the final minute or so of a game which we will surely lose (such as the UConn one) I do tend to go off at Norm (and Monasch was sitting within earshot of me, so I let me feelings be heard).  I certainly hope people go to the games with the full intention of rooting for us to win as opposed to going just to yell at Norm.  I really don't think that happens much.
