....

I feel instead of complainin bout the coach we need to support these kids!!!..they want to win but how do u think they feel if the gyms are empty and you here chants about firing th coach..we need to do more to support than complain its pathetic!! Make it to everygame you can and jus be as loud as you can in SUPPORT and heckle the other team!..get the kids excited about something!..I'm sure its not helping us getting any program changers to our school when the schools few fans seem to find more things bad then good..guys were 12-6..honestly the least wins I see us finishing with is 6 wich brings us to 18..plus nd isn't great this yr..loyola @ home?? We can beat lville pitt marquette and even wv there home games!..we need to be fans and try to inspire and back this team instead of giving up hope!

I partially agree with you.  I always go to games and support the team and root for them to win.  With that said, if we're coming down to the final minute or so of a game which we will surely lose (such as the UConn one) I do tend to go off at Norm (and Monasch was sitting within earshot of me, so I let me feelings be heard).  I certainly hope people go to the games with the full intention of rooting for us to win as opposed to going just to yell at Norm.  I really don't think that happens much.

These kids came here to play for St Johns and Norm Roberts. Posters complain that Norm cant bring in in the talent, ok-but these are our guys who are trying to win some games. Most of these guys(9) have been busting it for 3 years, lets show them some support.

Stop using that as an excuse for our losses. I think we criticize our players too much sometimes when they aren't put into the right situations to succeed. Paris Horne, DJ Kennedy, Dwight Hardy, Anthony Mason, Justin Burrell, Dele Coker, Sean Evans, and Justin Brownlee are all good.

Generally I agree with you but otoh they still play like blockheads a lot of the time.

Yes but for instance last night Dele Coker and Sean Evans both had a turnovers at the top of the key beyond the 3 point line. WTF are they doing there in the first place? Do you see my point?

Obviously Norm doesn't make it easy on them. Sometimes it's as if he does things purposefully, things that go beyond mere boneheadedness: it's like he's trying to be awful. But it's also true that the light just has not turned on for most of these kids yet, and even those that have the bulb is flickering. Evans shouldn't be at the top of the key yes, but when he's there nobody forces him to dribble behind his back, right? In order to win they're going to have to overcome Norm's questionable decisions and strategies, and collectively they're just not good enough to do that. Yet, he added hopefully.

Maybe Norm was offered a better job like his old Queens College gig. Only he has to try and get SJU to fire him first. The only problem is Father Harrington and Monasch aren't paying attention. This same exact thing happened to George Costanza. No matter how hard he tried he just could not get George Steinbrenner to fire him. Finally George had to resort to eating strawberries and wiping the juice on Babe Ruth's uniform. Maybe Norm can try this with a Mullin jersey. The only problem would be someone would have to explain to Father H and Monasch exactly who Chris Mullin is.

Norm would call a time out right before the strawberries hit the jersey and then substitute an cantaloupe, leading to a shot clock violation.

Again the team is middle of the road BE talented with a D 3 coach.

Don't insult D3 coaches.

Don't we have a bet on your Paris Horne multiple 20 point games?

Yes, I believe the bet is $10,000.

Great becuase I believe you said the exact number of 20 point games would be 14. BTW I do not take personal checks!

The only way Roberts can truly improve this program is to get fired.

couldnt be truer.

If we supposedly currently have the best players of Norm's tenure and still average 60 pts annually, what make anyone think next year will be different?

The sophomores have become juniors and we have added Hardy and Brownlee, yet nothing has changed offensively. I would call that a trend, if nothing else changes, e.g. new asst. coach.

NCAA's ain't gong to happen next year, unless newcomer Roberts is Kevin Durant.
It is what it is.

I have stopped watching SJU basketball after 40 years, because the offense is offensive. It is too painful too watch, never thought I would ever say that.
