you really want a top program?? or you don't?

 I will say this...STJ fans are happy with this mess of a program..you all love it..Top programs dont settle for this...UNC has an off year this season, and still may make the ncaa's..The fans are shouting down Roy on his way to the arena..calling in his show..petitions..Duke newspaper writes articles to bench Singler..pisses off coach k..These programs are top notch..why??? cause the fans will not settle for less..They were chanting at the last UNC game for Roy to go...He has won 2 national championships at UNC..What do STJ fans do??? they complain on message boards..Georgetown..yes the ranked hoyas..When their beloved program was down..what did they do..The fans forced the school to make a change..That is why they are top programs..

 Ask yourself this...would you go buy the same crappy burger because the owner was a nice guy?? would you go in thinking the burger would be different this time?? that is insanity..change happens when you tell the owner hey your burger sucks...or could you do this to your burger...or you dont buy the burger anymore..but STJ fans will say we cant do that because we dont want to offend anyone...well then you will get your crappy burger..cause he thinks you are enjoying it...

 Its no joke..I read these boards and you have people unhappy not willing to do a thing...so you get what you get..these kids need to go to chapel hill and see how a real program is run...its not the school...its the fans that make things happen..why do you think every year UNC has a top class..you visit that campus and you are sold..the fans are rabid..same at Duke..same at texas, kentucky..i hear STJ fans talking like we are like those programs, or should be...

the administration thinks the fan base is a joke...and they're right.

there's a brandon tierney espn event on campus before the seton hall game.  it's an ideal way to voice displeasure on national television.

 exactly my point..every real college basketball program is built from the fans up.the fans do not tolerate failure.they have so much heat on sidney lowe at nc state its not even funny..I read on here all the time how its norms fault, or father harry's fault..no its not...you keep eating the rotten cheeseburgers and then leaving the restaurant saying it sucks in the mirror, then you are back buying them again..
  you want school spirit..first learn about school spirit...the school is bigger than the individual...and the school comes first..if the coach can't get it done...remove him...that is the fans job..why do u think kentucky got rid of Gillespie so quickly..The fans...they didnt want him there..they booed him, they jeered him..they harrassed the school about him...and now they will be ranked number 1...stj dont show up..they walk away, or they want to cheer on their team...so this is what you deserve.....great job kids..

Our fans or lack of fans at games do send a message. The few  thousand who go to games and cheer their team on should not be blamed. I go, I cheer, will because this is my team. I like our players even if they have faults. One day I feel (hope) i will be rewarded with a good team again.

You can call some fan bases rabid. At times they may be. At times they may delusional, embarrassing, and disgusting. Our coach is not getting the job done. This is not a secret. Even he must know it. He is not going to quit.
Fans have protested the best way they can by not going to games. Our next home game is against nationally ranked West Virginia. WV will have a much smaller following then Nova. There will be less then 7,000 people there. 3,000 will be there for WV. If the schools administration doesn't see a problem there. They won't notice 300 people screaming for Norms head.

If Norm is back. The school must have decided that it is not worth the trouble or the school can't make money from the basketball program.

Exactly, Hit!  Good post.  I wished I lived in or near NYC.  I would've long got a protest/picketing started ala The Hilltop.  I hate this rotten cheeseburger and I plan not to eat at this restaurant again this year.  And, if this same restaurant, that I used to love, put  this cheeseburger back on their menu....  I'm not ever gonna dine in that said restaurant again.  The enabling needs to stop (need to stop going to the games) and voice opinions on campus, e-mails, phone calls, etc.  We need to rid ourselves of the W.C.E. (at least, in Big East conference history).

I wish I could be there.  I'd definitely voice my opinion.  Hey!  Make sure you all voice your displeasure.  Hopefully, y'all can do it eloquently, as well....  But, make sure you're being heard.  lol

i can honestly tell u that i wont. its not that i cant because i am on vacation but because i cant see me asking to take the job of guys i have actually sat down and chilled with. not saying im happy with the job they are doing because im not im pissed. but just my personality i cant. if he was a complete dick i would and could have ur campus flooded with outside people calling for his head. but he isnt a jerk. that is gonna have to come from the guys putting in money or people like yall who grew up watching st.johns or went there. u wont see any high school or aau coaches doing it. he isnt jarvis from what i have heard.

we shall see.  i personally think the BT show is the best way of doing this, however there are some obstacles, such as the fact that A) its SJU property, and we will likely be kicked out of Marillac the second we step foot in with chants/signs. and B) his show takes place in the middle of the work day, which would mean it would be hard for people to get there for it.
