This is crazy!!!

This league is crazy!!  To think 2 wins and we are right back in there.  2 losses and we are cooked!  providence beats uconn, who would have guessed it.  I guess thats what so frustrating.  Teams with less talent getting better results.  I have not lost faith yet as far as this year goes.  Alot of basketball to still be played.  The top five are starting to separate themselves, beyond that is still a free for all.  We  need a W streak of at least 2 in a row. Pitt is a uphill battle but not an impossible battle.  Our NCAA dreams are not dead yet,  we need to be successful Thurday or break out the eulogy!

We are about to be 12-8 (2-6) and Norm Roberts is the coach.  STJ does not win on the road.

Season over.  Norm tenure over.   We'll be lucky to hit last year's win total of 16--with an easier schedule.  Progress?

queensrevolution, I mostly agree with you here, especially the last few sentences of your post.  IF we beat Pitt tomorrow, we still have a shot at going .500 in the league and making the Tourny (it would still be a bigtime uphill battle). 

If we lose tomorrow, our hopes are fully out the window IMO.  There is a HUGE difference between 2-6 and 3-5. 

The difference between us and Providence is that Providence is pretty well coached.

they have the better point guard the last two matchups hes beem the difference

lol providence is garbage and they're all about chucking. When it rains it pours for Providence but they get less rain the desert.

I've been saying this for years now there is a fine line between being very good and very bad in conference. Look at the last few season the difference in the records between the 8th best and 12th best team in the conference. It's maybe 2 games. We've been on the losing end of those games far too many times which is why we never get over the hump. I thought this year was a great shot to get 2-3 more games than usual which isn't out of the question nor is it still. Its more unlikely than probable from what I've seen lately from this team but the talent is there. How we're using that talent is another story. This is the most upset I've been with the coaching staff ever and I try to be more than fair when criticizing them.

they don't have more overall talent, but they have a point guard, and we don't. We didn't even have our one lousy pg for that game.

We have a hell of a lot more talent than PC. yet , they beat us by 15 on our home court.  Either our players are dogs, or our coaches are pathetic.  I'll go with the latter.

Overall, I do not think they have better talent....  But, they have a better point guard and the Brooks kid and Greedy Peterson are solid players, as well.

I know we're talking about strictly talent on the floor.  But, you can't leave out the coach in this discussion.  Davis versus Norm.....  'Nuff said.

You just insulted Kim Cattrall! She is probably a much better basketball coach than Norm. And even if she isn't she got naked a lot in her movies.
 

At least Providence has a running style appealing to kids. Sixty points/game offense at SJU a complete negative to most recruits.

That would be pretty crazy.  Not impossible, but implausible, and I think that actually gets the team into the Tournament if Pitt hangs around the top 25.

I'm glad someone is still believing in this team....  Actually, moreso believing in the coach of this team.

It's possible your scenario could come to fruition.  But, I have my doubts.  They'll probably end up beating someone we do not believe they'll beat (although, it'll have to be a home game 'cause they do not win on the road), but they'll end up losing a couple of games to someone who you believe they'll beat.

Furthermore, I hope you do not take the losses too hard....  Otherwise, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

I don't envision this team being favored in more than three games over the remainder of the season. At best, I'd expect that this team can win 16 games-whether that is enough to earn Roberts a seventh season in the eyes of intellectual giants like Chris "Beach Bum" Monasch and the priest is another issue.

I think if we end up 9-9 or better in the league, we will be NCAA bound. 

It will take QUITE a turnaround in order for it to happen.
