Check out the very distinguished list of Alumni from Prez', and Blair's, high school.

•Notable alums who attended Schenley include former NBA All-Star Maurice Lucus, artist Andy Warhol, singer Vivian Reed, former Washington Redskins running back Larry Brown, jazz musicians Stanley Turrentine, Ray Brown, Walt Harper, Harvard Law School's first African-American professor Derrick Bell, Cleveland Browns tight end Darnell Dinkins, professional wrestling's "living legend" Bruno Sammartino and Nobel laureate Clifford Shull.

I can't get this visual of Andy Warhol having a beer with Bruno Sammartino out of my head.

Warhol was American icon. Weird, but an icon.

That's an impressive list. Funny, how all of them have one thing in common,
they all left Pittsburgh.

From what I've heard, Schenley will be shutting down in a year or 2.

Darnell Dinkins was originally a QB at Pitt.  He was invited to Giants camp as a 4th arm, but had no shot making the team.  I believe the QB's at the time were Collins, Jason Garrett and Jesse Palmer.  Long story short, he worked really hard in camp and Fassel gave him a shot on special teams in one of the last games.  He makes a big time, crushing hit on the returner and as a result makes the team as the third tight end.  He is still in the NFL today.  It's funny how life works, if he didnt get that one shot to play specials and make the most of that one opportunity he would never have made it to the NFL.

why do yall call him prez?

Two reasons.

One because he shares a last name with the great, martyr president that was admired and respected by the entire nation, both parties.  Could you even imagine that in this day and age of politics?  John F. Kennedy

Two because it's the nickname of all-time tenor saxophone great Lester Young and I've always liked that nickname. After learning this week of how many jazz stars hail from Pittsburgh in general and from Prez' HS in particular, it seems even more apropro.
