Ill say this.  If you are ALL chanting, they won't kick you all out.  And if they try, the alumni and other fans will stick up for you (or at least I would).

"Let them stay! Let them stay!"

Or just get an entire stadium going fire roberts.

Msg has bad acoustics - I didn't hear any chants.  Glad to hear they happened.

You can also stick it to them by chanting "we want justin" or we want hardy" before the tip OR before second half starts that way its heard loud and clear.

Its sad for them, but they have to know that the team is not performing to big east exceptions and the exceptions of the students.

Yes, we wouldn't want the players to not live up to your lofty exceptions.

Quote
I also understand why the redzone people are annoyed with the chants and why they want to stop he chants.  But, throwing students out for chanting anything short of profanity or racism remarks is a little draconian.

Draconian means "extremely harsh" or "unduly severe." So a little draconian would mean, er, what exactly? Not quite extremely harsh?

Are you a student? If so, can I have the name of your Remedial English professor? Because he's not living up to my exceptions either.

kob, to be fair all of us students want Norm to win too and we cheer our ass off every single game in hopes of helping these guys win, yesterday was no exception and neither will the Louisville game.  We will come out and cheer and if we win we will be happy but if we get behind we will voice our displeasure.  The Fire Roberts chants didn't start until we were down and out and we didn't have a real chance to win.  If we can't express our opinions on the coach at the game, where else are we going to express them?

Hey Foad, you don't start a sentence with "because"

Here's some friendly advice: this is a Red Storm basketball message board.
Stick to the topic. No one is here to read about you correcting grammar.

u have everyright to speak ur mind. im not telling u to stop. never let anyone tell u otherwise. im just telling u from the players and the cheerleaders point of view. they are gonna stand up for him all the time. they may not like his choices of play or his choices of cereal or whatever but they are gonna back him. even if he gets fired they will back him. thats the type of bond u build with ur players. unless ur name is fred hill of course

I think I speak on behalf of most, if not all of the students when I say that I completely understand and respect that. I wasn't expecting the players to stand up and start clapping with us, I knew they would be upset about the chants, and like a few of us have said, that's the only reason why we don't really wanna chant for norm, and we're not taking it personally when the players tell us to stop.

That said, I'm glad you understand our point of view as well and think that something needs to be done. I don't care who coaches this team as long as they win. If that would've been Norm then great, but clearly he's not the guy for the job. I'm a fan like all of you, I'm not just a fanboy who roots for this team because it happens to be the school I go to. I was a fan of this program before I was a student here and I want so badly to just see a winner again.

Just think if you students weren't too coward last year, we might have a real coach in here right now.

Dude, if you think the students could have done anything last year your crazy. Norm was going to coach these guys in their junior season.  End of story.   Calling the students that actually still care about this program "cowards" is absolutely ridiculous and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Give it a rest man. Its nobody's fault except Norm, Monasch, and harrington.  I heard plenty of "fire Norm "chants last year.  it didn't matter.
Your just pissed because you fell for the old rope-a-dope again this year.  You should have known better.  Thank god Mason came back. :D

1-3-1 is an automatic open look for a three pointer with one skip pass from one side of the baseline to the other.  It's there EVERYTIME.

-He should have known 1-3-1 was coming. The announcers said it was coming before halftime ended. Middle school coaches should be more prepared.

Even casual fans know that a 1-3-1 is somewhere on the horizon against WV.  It's a great defense for changing things up --especially for picking up defensive aggression -- but a good coach calls a T.O. and adjusts rather quickly.

Employing a 1-3-1 is like playing tic-tac-toe and placing an X in the top corner...it's just a matter of time before your opponent figures out that one simple thing can render your whole strategy useless. Apprently Norm is that guy that will not understand that all you have to do to force a draw is place an O in the middle.

We were up 15 at 17:30 mark and down 21 at the 1:30 mark.  Outscored 36 points in 16 minutes of basketball.  That's almost impossible to do. The Generals are way, way more competitive with the Globe Trotters.  Just mind-boggling!

Bad sequence at the end of the 1st half.  We get the ball back up 14 with 40 seconds left.  We could have held for the last shot but Hardy gets a quick open 3 look and takes it, can't blame him. We then stupidly foul WV on a 25 ft. 3 attempt and they convert all 3.  What could have been a 16 or 17 point lead, at least 14 evaporated to 11 and gave them the momentum into the locker room.

I don't know if it was the catalyst or why it would be the catalyst, but the beginning of the end started exactly when Junior went into the lockerroom with the bad hand in the second half.  By the time he came back out.  It was over.

mason was the one thing keeping us alive against the zone. he was able to see over and around it. west virginia was on the verge of taking it off and than boothe came in.
