smart program would let him go right at the end of the season..this gives them the early shot to get a quality coach..others will be scooping up the talent as quick as possible...u wait to long you will get another Norm..

You have to be able to speak to possible coaches at the Final Four as an AD - it's the networking event.

SJU is not going to fire Norm mid-season. They pulled that crap with Jarvis right before Christmas-and got every ounce of karma they deserved for doing it. They could fire him right before the BE tourney ask a proven alum like a Chris Mullin to come in, pick up their spirits, and show them examples of how the losing wasn't their fault. It's not likely, but it would be an out of the box idea that might let the public know that they care about their kids-something people are in doubt of over Norm's time here.

That way they can find some confidence going into the off season. The players keep saying it's us, not Norm, but we know that's not true.

Am i alone in thinking that no matter what they decide to do, they will end up botching it beyond repair once again?

if that is the case why are we all still here? There is still some hope that a good coach will want to
come here.

I might be alone in believing that it doesn't have to be a John Calipari or a Rick Pitino. Sure, I'd love either guy, but a younger guy who's won at a Rhode Island or a Siena would be a strong choice as well.

Norm will be fired right after we lose our last game.  There is NOTHING keeping him around this time.

We are arguably worse than last year with a group of juniors and Mase back.  The excuses that were around last year are gone.  The attitude of the players has changed.  We are being mocked by opposing players and the media.

There is no way Norm can be retained this time.  None.

The only way Norm will be retained is if Harrington is trying to ruin the program. I believe he is punishing the program for embarrassing him in Pittsburgh.

At this point, it's clear that Norm is what he is. The blame can't rest solely on his shoulders.

Harrington and Mineya should be thrown on an island somewhere.

He will only be fired if the fans continue to take the lead...If the fans start really chanting that Norm must go, or something like that then I will say he will be gone by the seasons end..If the chants do not pick up...if the fans do not demand a better product...more of those horrible cheeseburgers...

I think Norm will be fired at the end of the season because firing him now makes no sense.  Why have the kids play for as assistant that will be canned too?  Let him go and his assistants at the end of the season so that a new coach can come in and clean slate.  If this university really cares they will be looking now and have their list cut so that as soon as Norm goes they can start calling coaches.  Hiring assistants is a crap shoot.  Unless they are willing to pay a top coach this program will always be hoping a mid major or an assistant will turn this program around.
