I didn't see the game and I know that the box score doesn't tell the story, but can someone let me know how it is that Hardy only played 20 mins (while Paris played 29). Given Dwight's shooting performance, would think he should've played more.

A few times I called for more Hardy and less Horne. It wasn't so much as an anti-Horne thing as it was Pro Mason, pro dj, pro Hardy thing. I also think Hardy should be cutting into Stith's minutes. Boothe has stepped it up enough to warrant being on the court again.

However Norm did a pretty good job of keeping Hardy in while he was hot and mixed minutes pretty well between the guards. Also I LOVED the substitution at the end of the game when Coker and Horne came in for Rob Thomas and Hardy.

Everyone played pretty well tonight, a few tweaks of the rotation, and if the refs weren't so terrible we would have won by a lot. Really this was the worst officiated game of the season. There were some serious phantom calls (we benefited from one or two of them too) but every time Nash touched the ball and turned around they called a foul

Who takes MVP this game?

Mason? 12 points 5 reb 4 ast 1 stl 1 blk

Burrell? 12 points 4 reb 3 ast

Hardy? 16 pts 5-7 from 3

Boothe? 7pts 3-6 shooting 5 ast

Damn we had a lot of contributors tonight.

Hardy boyz was game MVP.  It's a no-brainer.

Didn't watch the game.  Glad we won.  It gives some more juice to the Seton Hall game on Wednesday (which I'll be at).

Btw,  the official St. Johns twitter just said that in the postgame lockerroom, the players picked up Norm on their shoulders and carried him around the lockerroom. LOL.

Yeah nice pump fake at the top of the key.  I couldn't tell if it got swatted or if he just lost it when he was trying to cup it.

Hardy's 3 down 66-64 with a hand in his face is a shot we rarely make. It was dagger with 3 seconds left on the shot clock.

There were a lot of plays that could have turned the game over but we faught hard, so for that, I'm happy.

This.

Also Dave I don't think the refs were that bad.  Other than the Kennedy loose ball call (which was horrendous) and maybe the last foul on JB I thought they did a decent job.

JB drove from the 3 pt line and just lost it going up.  Would have been spectacular.  I love the aggressive play.

justin and ty have been palying with and against each other since 11th grade. ty always gave justin problems because he is a lefty and is awkward. but justin went at him also and some of those calls were bull shit i heard. but they won and both of the kids i helped coached played well hopefully mike brey sees what he has with tyrone and gets him more involved with the offense

mase actually stepped out of bounds when he dished to rob thomas in the 1st have and the refs missed it

Great win for the kids- Quality road win.

My observations.

Didnt think D was great- only good.  Nash got the ball
too deep too many times, then Justin couldnt handle him.

They shot 9/17 from 3. too many of them were wide open,
because our zone stinks. We dont rotate quick enough.

But the good !!
Boothe a few good games in a row. 5 assts 1 TO !

Hardy's the man. clutch tonight. dont mind him coming
off the bench, but he needs more than 20min/g

Junior showing he's closer every game- nice D too

JB1 keeping it inside 10 ft is his strength.

I thought Norm was not bad with subs tonight. Yea Burrell & Hardy
should have played more, but Evans & Brownlee's minutes were properly down.

Cablevision (Long island) ruined it for me tonight.
Took my wife to dinner, dvr'd game, forgot to add extra time.
game was set for 2 hrs, DVR stopped with 20 SECONDS LEFT & DOWN 1 PT !!..
Ran to computer & found out here that we pulled it out.

If anyone missed game- Cablevision replaying it today 3pm

MY DVR and ESPN 360 were not cooperating with the replay, so I missed the last seconds (from DJ's Free Throws).  Nice win.  Good to hear an explanation for Justin's absence.  Nice work not playing Evans.

I think Notre Dame's staff needed to play a few other guys - they basically played one guy off the bench.

Hardy was nice, they played a decent controlled game, worked against the zone... didn't think they would pull it out, glad to be proven wrong.

Anyone see Monasch behind the bench there?  He doesn't usually travel with the team, does he?

Guys, we beat a mediocre big east team who was missing one of the best players in the entire conference.

And a team that has no plan B.  The guys might beat Seton Hall as well - they and ND are two of the most defensively indifferent teams in conference.

I thought 2 calls on JB were bad, one on Evans was bad, the one on Stith 50 ft away from the basket was bad.  Thats 4 right there + Kennedy foul thats 5 which is 2 away from bonus. Thats pretty big swing for 1 half of basketball.

wow celebrating a win against an ND team we SHOULD beat since they are missing one of the BE's best players.  Disgusting.

This loser attitude where a win at a depleted ND team is cause for celebration makes me want to puke.  This is a game that ANY BE team should win with Harangody out.  Nothing to celebrate.  We have no attitude of winning - act like youve been there before, at least with something minor like this win.

Well don't mistake this for me jumping on Norm's bandwagon but he did outcoach Mike Brey last night. Brey was out of timeouts and Norm used his to set up a couple of clutch plays.
