from that report :
4. Iona, 21-9 (12-6 MAAC), 4, 128
The Gaels went 4-3 down the stretch, enabling St. John's to gain ground. Still, Iona finished the season with only two bad losses—at Canisius and at Manhattan.
5. St. John's, 15-13 (5-11 Big East), 5, 127
Although the Johnnies are only two games over .500, voters were lenient because of their strength of schedule. St. John's has struggled more than several New York programs behind it in the rankings, but the Red Storm have also dealt with a menacing Big East schedule.
Way off in their analysis:
Iona has 4 losses vs teams w sub 100 RPI...St Johns only 1 (Rutgers)
Iona has only 1 win vs a top 100RPI (Providence) St Johns has 7.
St Johns has a RPI of 73 - of course way below our expectations,
but right where the preseason rankings put us
Iona's RPI is 110 (very correct in my eyes, their best in 5 yrs)
Props to Iona for their good season, but...the RPI's are correct
Can't complain w other top 10, except Hofstra should definately
be #6, sliding each Niagra, Buffalo & St Bonnie down a spot.
