If we want a home run, the closest thing to it is Seth Greenberg.
I might be wrong, but isn't he the only guy going to the dance on that list?

McCaffrey and Donahue are dancing.  Hewitt, Sendek, Baron and Gregory have teams on the bubble.

It's easier to recruit to NYC and BE than:  Blacksburg, Ithaca at an IVY, Albany, NC State fighting for players with Duke/UNC (Sendek), etc.

Are Baron's Rams still alive?

That's a home run, followed by a double in the gap.

I think he is very good. I haven't seen them play........what kind of offense does he run.....sharing the ball or discipline ?

You'll like his offense. Generally, the power forward brings it up court and then pounds it inside to the power forward. If there's nothing inside the power forward throws it back out to the perimeter where the power forward looks for the three or reverses the ball to the power forward on the other wing. On SJ, which has a power forward that was an ALL BIG EAST ROOKIE SELECTION, this system has great promise.

That's pretty darn accurate.

Sadly it sort of is. Greenberg's offense is just as ugly as Norm's. He recruits the same "athletes" and he pounds the ball inside and generally scores off of "hustle" and "effort" plays.

Norm doesn't ever pound the ball inside, though.

I Voted for Fran but I would be just as happy with Greenberg. Fran has made Siena into a good program who has made the NCAAs the last three years. From the games Ive seen it looks like he can coach and if he recruit at Siena he should be able to at SJU. Greenberg is good though also I think he would do great recruiting here and he has big time basketball experience.

I voted for McCaffrey.  I like Greenberg and I think we'd make a solid run in his tenure, but I doubt we'd ever be top 5 in the conference regularly.

I think Donoghue is the most intriguing of all the coaches on this list--and might have the highest ceiling.  He is far and above Greenberg and just about everyone on this list in terms of x's and o's.  The question with him is can he get non-Ivy league kids to play that smart/well?

McAffrey is great IMO.  He has won everywhere he's been.  He's coached in the Big East.  He employs a system that recruits would love and that would fit our current roster.  He dominated his conference for three years and has won NCAA tournament games despite worse 3-pt shooting than we had this year and a PG that simply cannot score.  Sound familiar?

Is Greenberg really that great of a recruiter? I honestly don't know the answer to that.

I'm still holding out hope for an A+ like Donovan as opposed to an A or A- like McAffrey or a B+ like Greenberg.

I would add Chris Mooney from Richmond on the list.

I would pick Greenberg though.  Solid track record at a football school.  A friend of mine says he has recruited DC pretty well.  If he is willing to play the game here and hire some NYC assts, i am all for it.  A 2 time ACC coach of the year as well.
