True he might laugh at the offer as well.  And he might not want the job, who knows.  What the hell do I know? I know him as well as you do.  Which is why i don't know why you'd call him a douchebag.  This just in...Coaches complain to refs all the time.

He takes his players off the court before the game ends, not just 1 time. He goes behind coaches backs and complains to the conference bigwigs. He not liked very much amongst his peers. Rat bastard. But he can coach, and I'll have a hard time rooting for him

I bet his players love him.

Don´t our players love Norm?

Not as much as we are led to believe, I suspect. I bet Burrell wants to slug him. Omari too.

we arent getting a big name coach...we are a crappy team in the hardest league in the country to compete in, with limited money, and if you cite our history, well, no one cares, and if you cite the city, well, it doesnt matter...coaches can recruit city kids from the midwest, just being here doesnt mean shit, ask norm roberts, or for better info on that matter ask huggins, or dixon, or now, even ask cronin...if we dont pony up some serious cash, we wont get a big name, and we cant get the amount of cash necessary to compete with schools with big resources...no one gives a flying ratshit what we did in 1985...times have changed...so if one of the best mid major coaches in the country like mccaffery would coach here, idt anyone should call the guy a douchebag bc of how he handles the refs...that'd be like a cheerleader asking out the class nerd to the prom and him saying no, i dont like your personality, im gonna hold out for better...this guy is a winner, and we would be blessed to get him, bc our program is irrelevant and there def would be better opportunities for him down the line if he waits

exactly "there def would be better opportunities for him down the line if he waits"

I cant root for this douchebag

you're an idiot.

waah wahhh my name is baldi waahhh wahhh mccaffery sends plays off to not shake hands waahhhhh

so you would you rather root for the team in its current state?
and youre saying that you wouldn't root for the team with him as his coach.

im sure thats what your trying to covey now, but it wouldn't happen. if mccaffery came here, you would be all over his nuts.

if that's sarcasm i would love to hear why he wouldn't have better opportunities in the future or why you think st johns is such a great opportunity right now

That wasnt sarcasm, I agreed with you. I think he and Willard pass on this job unless the mony is over the top which it isnt going to be. They will wait for aBCS program who puts $$ into their program. Thats what Keno Davis should have did

McCaffery gets constant effort from his guys, plays an uptempo style.  At the very least it would be an entertaining watch.  If he wants to come at the right price, I'm down.

And Willard got caught once driving drunk.  You know what, it has happened.  I think it's pretty low, but a good deal of the people on this board old enough to drive have probably gotten behind the wheel with a few drinks in them.  And like Willard, they should learn that lesson.

He ain't no Billy Clyde "Hammered" Gillispie, whose legend in the watering holes is legendary.

Burrell said the players have discussed Roberts' precarious situation and they left practice Monday with the feeling that "we have to do this for him (because) we want him here beyond this season and we know the only way for that to happen is for us to win these games."

In the case of a hall of fame coach that has won national championships, gone to the final four multiple times with different teams, won the BE tourney, coached in the Nba and bangs other peoples wives on bars in restaurants, I'd say no.

In the case of an upstate mid-major coach who came into an already well established, successful program previously guided by coaching great Paul Hewitt and has built on that success, I'd say maybe.

Don't believe she was married, though of course he was.

coaching great Paul Hewitt? Isn't he playing in one of the ACC play in games tonight despite having 2 or 3 future NBAers on his roster?

Wasn't she a wife or girlfriend of an assistant coach or something?  Don't mind me.  I've always wanted Hewitt to coach here.

How many years did Bob Lanier coach there?  Do you know he had like size 22 sneakers?

3 NBA guys and two of them are potential lottery picks in Lawal and Favors.

At some point, GT is going to have to eat that contract, but it'll take in the neighborhood of $7.5M (thanks to the prior AD).

I have only listed, in my opinion, semi-realistic choices which is why there is no Donovan or Pitino. I want Greenberg.
