Hopefully a call is made to Ron Roberts shortly after this is completed

They are saying Seth Greenberg is the favorite. I think this team next year with the upgrade at coach and if Boothe could play as he did at the end could possibly make the Sweet 16. The real question is what now becomes of Bluto,Foad and RSHF?
And what of Norm? What job best suits his skill set? Is excuse making a career?

Post and ESPN radio this morning. Honestly other than Fred Hill I'd be happy with anyone.

Where did I say this?  If I did say it I was wrong, but nothing up to this point has led me to believe the administration was gonna get rid of him

Norm seemed liked a great guy, just sucks that alot of people were rooting against him

Who rooted against him?  Other than a few from BEB like realfan and dthomas, the vast majority rooted for norm. There's a difference in rooting against a guy and realizing after 5+ yuears that he'll never win and hoping a change is made.

Everyone wanted nice guy norm to be the guy to restore this program to its winning ways. He couldn't, and most of us knew it over a year ago.

I am having a nice corn beef sandwich today to celebrate and you can't have any!!!

I just got into my office and I am reading the post.  What a great way to start off the day by seeing that SJU is indeed going to get rid of Norm.  It is only 8a and when I am still half asleep I am wide awake now because of this news.  They put together a very interesting list of canidates which I like a lot of them.  Also the article says and I quote "Several sources at SJU said the university was prepared to offer a long term(six yrs) lucrative(1.5 million annually) deal to the right canidate.  This is a start to what I feel could be greatness again.

PS.  For those who like to read about SJU recruiting and other big east news.  Check out  the NBE basketball site.  It projects next years break out stars in the league.  We have two guys burrell and Hardy.

could you find me that article?
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Wow I'm so happy!

A school official on Thursday refuted the report. "We're NIT eligible and athletic director Chris Monasch has been supportive and will comment at season's end," St. John's director of athletic communications Mark Fratto told FanHouse.

Before I pop open the bottle of Korbel, I'd like to see an official announcement.
Has anyone seen one from the school, ESPN or a reputable new source?

There are too many reports out there that he will be fired for me to believe he won't be whether they make the NIT or not. Now, if they end up winning the NIT, that might be a different story.

They won't make the NIT.

Seton Hall, Cinci, Uconn and USF are all NIT bound.

“That’s life,’’ Roberts said. “Some teams are corporations and some others are the ones we call knuckle up. That’s who we want to be, a knuckle-up. That’s who we are -- a little school in Queens that works really hard.’’

doesn't refute anything...
"we're nit eligible"...true
"chris monasch has been supportive"...true
"will comment at season's end"...true.
so don't expect a comment from him until late sunday or later if we're in the nit.  it doesn't say norm's future depends on the outcome of the tournament.

whats going to happen to the underclassmen and the recruits?
the underclassmen will improve with better coaching and become winners again.

we have one recruit who has a decision to make...hopefully he realizes the new coach will improve his nba chances and he'll join us.
