:) So clever, Newsman! Your wit is truly transcendent!

Yeah, I'm rooting for the kids. And enjoying getting to see another game.

We have absolutely no shot to beat memphis on the road unless they mail it in.

Happy for the kids. They kept fighting. They live to fight another day.

it's not fighting.  it's basketball.

this team doesn't play good basketball.

norm roberts doesn't coach good basketball.

i can't believe there are still some people here who love being second rate.

i can't believe i'm even writing this in mid march.  this jerk should have been gone already.

The Memphis game is a very winnable game for us. I'm expecting a big game out of Mason playing down south. If they continue to play how they were playing in the Big East tourney I don't see them losing in the NIT. The guy's all had a fire in their eyes, and it was evident with Paris Horne diving all over the floor for every loose ball. We should have beat Marquette, and I think had it not been for some poor clock management at the end we could have at least tied it up and forced OT(of course you could say the same thing for like 40% of our losses this year). I won't be surprised if they get to the Garden and who know's what would happen momentum wise if they get back to the Garden. I'm obviously disappointed that it seems the administration is sufficing with this NIT bid, but if we can turn it into a prolonged run, it could be a step in the right direction.

too bad that fire didnt translate into free throws dude...and i dont think anyone should really congratulate the team either...no offense to the kids but the goal was ncaa's...we finished 13th in conference, and didnt come close to ncaa's...congratulations to them would have been an NIT bid when they were all freshmen or even last year when they were all sophmores...a bunch of juniors going to the NIT isnt that special

Not to mention, considering our seed in the NIT....  We were also a bubble-NIT team.  A bubble-NIT team with a junior laden roster.  Yikes!  The seed we received are usually seeds for teams who might've won the regular season title from a lower conference (ie, Coastal Carolina).

So, considering we are from a major conference and ended up with a #6 seed in the NIT.....  We were a bubble team, at best.

Now that it sounds pretty definite that Norm is gone if we lose early and stays if he makes MSG, anyone rooting for these meaningless NIT wins is essentially rooting for Norm to stay.  This is DIFFERENT than reg season when you still have a shot (albeit a long one) at the NCAA.  This is not a young team that will benefit greatly by a NIT run like the Sealy team.  A LOSS to Memphis helps this program far more than a win ever could.

This is the first time ever I have done it, but I really hope we lose.

I have mixed reactions to say the least.

Whatever, let's see what team shows up Wednesday; the Big East Tourney squad or the Seton Hall/Rutgers game squad.

Brandon Tierney says a few wins and he stays.  The logical deduction from that is that getting to MSG is probably the point at which Tierney thinks he's back.

Not that Tierney knows anything but since he's such butt buddies with Norm I'd say it's safe to assume that that is what Norm would have to do at a minimum to stay,

i can't believe i'm even writing this in mid march.  this jerk should have been gone already.

Norm Roberts is a lot of things..   bad basketball coach. . YES..   terrible recruiter. .YES but the one thing he is not is a jerk.

For all of the basketball faults what do people expect from the guy. Dies anyone really expect him to just randomly walk away from $700k per year because fans don't think he is doing a good job. He is doing his best and its not good enought but it doesn't make him a jerk.

Great post PMG.  I hope Norm is let go, but let's not criticize Norm for not resigning, or accuse him of being a bad person.  He's a nice guy who is trying his hardest to succeed at his dream job.  Hopefully this can end without too much drama and Norm will get a chance coaching at a mid-major.

My Binghamton Bearcats are going to need a coach after a year of scandal. Norm could be the perfect fit. We all know he runs a clean program. And i dont think he d get out coached in the America East.
