If we end up with Pecora, I'm going to be sick.

Be careful what you ask for. You may wind up with Pecora.

What a surprise Baldi has no sense of who a good coach is outside of the obvious (Donovan) and totally nice personic (Norm).

A similar report to this came out re:Brian Kelly and cincy.  I'll believe it when I hear he's signed an extension.

Jeff Capel is in the ACC?  I thought that was Kid's guy.

Capel IS my guy.  All i'm saying baldi, is you say thank god to no Greenberg and thank god to no Pecora....if St John's can't land donovan or pitino, which is more than likely, WHO are your guys?  Give me a short list of who Baldi wants st johns to realistically contact if the big dogs say no.  Norm is gone, so there's no "i'd rather just run with norm" option.  Who do you like?

Personally, my list is AFTER Donovan and Pitino is:

1. Jeff Capel
2.  Herb Sendek
3.  Paul Hewitt
4.  Seth Greenberg
5.  Steve Donahue
6.  Fran McCaffrey

Those are some pretty ACCentric choices.

Perhaps because I deem east coast guys more likely to make the move to NY.

One guy I would add that I always forget - Frank Martin.

Yeah I really don't see what's so great about Greenberg. I'm not too familiar with most of these coaches though in all fairness.

Is Donovan really the best option?

funny Tubby has done more than all the above with the exception of Billy D, and Pitino...Dont think the school will want Pitino's baggage..and Billy D ain't leaving florida...Tubby Smith should be the schools guy....can recruit, has a track record with the best big east coaches...and is squeeky clean...something that can't be said for alot of the names thrown around..

Hit,  you should be his agent. You make  an interesting and compelling case for Tubby.  I think maybe being 59 years old works against him our situation though.  But, that may be nitpicking.

Baldi,

Howland is at ucla and is a west coast guy.  No chance, that's as unrealistic as it comes.  Wright would never switch in conference from nova to st johns.  Both unrealistic.  I think belein is also unrealistic but ill let it slide.  Pick two to replace howland and wright.

With their improved facility, he's evidently at the top of Auburn's list.
