1. Lawrence Frank
2. Fran McCaffrey
3. Kevin Willard

I'd look to Brad Stevens or Scott Drew too if you strike out. They'd be excellent choices.

I thought McCaffrey was your favorite?
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

While he certainly would be fine with the AAU community, why would Scott Drew come to Queens?
He's got an excellent base going down there. He's in on Q Miller. They let him do what he wants.

I'd love Scott Drew...wow.

I would also be very, very happy with McCaffrey.  He has everything you want.  I don't think there is a coach in the country that would get more out of our current roster next year.  That will be enormous for recruiting.  Also, what NYC area kid doesn't want to run and gun with his system?  It is VERY PG friendly...a ton of dunks...defensively intense.....

He has developed an NBA player from the MAAC already with a chance to make it two with Ubiles this year.  He also recruited and coached in the Big East with ND and had a hand in developing some NBA talent.  He can go into a recruits house and say the three big things:

1) I have won  (4 NCAA berths with different teams, 3 as head coach)
2) I have put my guys in the NBA
3) You will have fun and rack up stats in my system

Fran is the man! Lets get it done. After the half-hearted attempts at Donovan and Pitino, he was my 3rd choice all along.  I would have been happy with hewitt, but thats over.
fran is better than Greenberg, skinner and all the rest.  He'll be the face for the next 10-15 years, and thats fine with me.

  don't screw this up Monasch.

Frank would have more upside I think. I'm torn. I need to write on paper pros/cons. I smell a write up.

Reading some posts on RM.com.  Fran has a recruit coming in next year, Basabe?  He turned down Norm to go to Siena.  Might he come along to SJU w/ Fran?  is he good?

I've seen him play twice this year (and once as a junior) and felt he was a mid-major recruit.

He's the #19 in New England, according to NERR.

I doubt he'd come now, but I'd like Monasch to wait until UT is done to talk with Pearl, if he's going to look at guys like Skinner and FM.

I have to agree with NTSG on this one. Basabe is probably right where he belongs with Siena and I think he's a good get for them.
