We may have spoke about this already but why was this guy fired from UCLA after a very good run there and why has he not taken a job since then. On the surface this looks like a good hire because of how he did at UCLA but hes been out of coaching for a while now and its obviously for a reason.

I don't know much about this guy but damn 6 NCAA's in 7 years and put 7 guys in the NBA.  He must have been doing something right.  I wouldn't mind giving this guy a chance at all.

i think he is definitely worth taking a chance on, it shows the guy can recruit. Bad part is we cant get our hopes up because of what happened Hewitt, and remember THE DONALD is probably gonna throw the rule book at him

He is 10-1 in 1st and 2nd round games. He got to 5 sweet 16s in 7 years. He signed a #1 recruiting class and A bunch of McDonalds All Americans. Sounds like a HOME RUN to me.

There seems to be interest on both sides but I dont think anything is close because I read they havent even met yet. I cant see a scenario in which he is hired without meeting Monasch and FH face to face. Hes working now so maybe during the week he can come to SJU but I cant see anything happening until mid week.

I would love Lavin for HC.

Rubin is too much, he really is lol.  I bet Lavin will be on the backpage of the paper tomorrow even though nothing except for a Greg Anthony tweet points to any contact between the school and Lavin.

Greg Anthony is actually very, very in touch.  I have never followed his tweets, but I know that guy is connected.
