i hope we can land this kid..it would be a great start 2 2011 having polee and barry running up and down the court..with quincy how would that work..q at the 2..then polee at the 3 barry at the 4 or vise versa

Got some good scoop from somebody thisclose to the Remi deal...As of now his list in order is SJU, UCLA and ASU a distant third. Guy said Remi isnt a one and not likely a point forward like Lebron or for you old school cats Paul Pressey.
Said Remi is Legit and Sonny V said AT WORST top 30 talent in this class. Compared him a bit to Rodeny Carney while at Memphis.

I like the fact Lavin has the chance to be last and seal the deal.  Would have liked not to have to wait till the end of June for a decision but Remi from reports sounds worth it.  I have faith in Lavin!!!

The future of the St. John’s basketball program could take a major turn later this month.

Remi Barry, a 6-foot-7 French national from Loomis (Calif.) Del Oro High, will visit Arizona State the weekend June 11-13 and St. John’s June 18-20.

Barry said he was looking forward to the St.  John’s visit to “see if I like the campus, the people, the city. See if I feel like home or not, if I’m comfortable or not.”

I think its great news we got the last visit/last word.  Paris reminded me of NYC...hopefully NYC reminds Remi of Paris (assuming he likes Paris)!

Polee seems to give us an explosive and athletic upgrade.  Barry I think gives Lavin more versatility is offensive sets though.  I don't know exactly how good of a shooter he is but if his shot is as good as advertised and Horne shoots the way his capable of from outside then we then have a more reliable outside threat that teams will have to respect.  If we can spread defenses so Boothe can drive the options will be everywhere.  He can shoot,  we have Kennedy/Polee driving, EvanJB posting up and Horne/Barry out on the wings to kick it back out to. We will really be able to better use all of the talent on this team.  Got all fingers and toes crossed lavin pulls this one off.

According to the UCLA boards (via Scout.com), Remi Barry may not qualify and cancel his visits to ASU and St. John's.

Hopefully, this isn't the case, but it seems this isn't from a shoddy source.  This would suck, if it turns out to be factual.  I'm sure we'll hear more about this in the coming days, whether it's true or not.
