Mason didn't do much of anything  last year.  At least scoring and shooting wise.  i don't think its fair to expect a freshman to give you the intangibles that a 7 year senior would.

Polee Jr. will blend in nicely with the players we already have coming back.

He'll get his minutes fore sure.  I think he'd be a great strategic sub:

1. In-bounds plays (alley-oops or the threat)
2. When we need to run
3. When we have a big in foul trouble
4. When we are going through scoring droubt and need one of his dunks/blocks to spark a run

I think Polee could definitely get minutes. I think Mason never really fit in when he got back whereas Polee will be coming in to fit specific situations next year.

I think he could definitely be a spark type of guy judging by what everyone is saying about his athleticism

I'm not sure Polee is a 4-64 from downtown kinda player.

Polee's biggest contribution first year could be in practice.  He is going to send a shot back in someone's face, use his length to intercept lazy passes, and thenk dunk on somebody and the team will know instantly that things need to pick up.

If his biggest contribution will be in practice, then he's not the recruit we think he is. There are no guaranteed starters on a team that lost twice as many as it won.

An athlete like Polee can change the way things go down in practice, which will make the whole team better.  That doesn't mean he can't put some minutes in on the court.

polee isn't coming here to be a practice player.  he's coming to pave the way to an nba career.  we have assistants who can lead him and a couple of others there.

I never said he'd be a practice player.  I said that his biggest impact might be during practice because he will raise everyone's play and the competition will really go up--making everyone better.  I remember playing football at St. John's when we got a phenominal safety that was athletic as hell and hit like a truck...and it forced everyone to raise their level of play.

I think he'll get his mins--15-20 if I had to guess now--but JB1 will be our go-to PF.  Polee will be a stud for us his soph year.

I like our front court.  We have a bunch of guys that offer different things and everyone should play.  Coker has the size and shot-blocking.  JB1 has the jumper and the offensive game.  JB2 can block shots from the weakside and work the baseline offensively.  Evans has the hustle/strength. And now Polee is the FREAK athlete.  Thomas is also good for a few offensive buckets in half-court sets and can give us strength/rebounding.

I can see us absolutely running past teams with any combinatino of Boothe, Hardy, Paris, DJ, Polee, JB1, JB2 and Evans.  This kid literally runs like a guard.  Imagine Rick Jackson trying to beat him back on defense ? Wouldn't happen. :-*
