I like Omari and and Q. I think they can both be good players here. If they want to play they are going to have to earn minutes. New coach every shoild be even. Rob Thomas is a great story. He plays smart he always seems to be in the right position to score easy baskets. However he hasnt done enough to earn a 5th year. The only way he should be brought back is if we strike out with other recruits.

Hardy (3 point shooter) Paris (not a 3 point shooter).

Hardy shot 38% from downtown last season and Hilton shot 37%.  Makes everything else you said seem like gooblygook.

I could have elaborated more. But there is no need. Hardy is a 3 point shooter. Paris is not. There are many reasons for similar shooting percentages. Think of them yourself. As a fan I am happy when Hardy has an open look. I imagine our new coach will think of many ways to get him these looks. When Paris starts bombing away from three it usually makes me sick as well as many who frequent the game chats. Both players have comparable value. However, Hardy is a much better shooter.

you can't just pull up stats and act as though the discussion is over. these numbers are meaningless without context. It's not what % they shot, it's what % they shot when it mattered.

We haven't had a game that mattered this century.

Hardy is a 3 point shooter. Paris is not.

Again with this ridiculous statement.  I couldn't back you off of this falsehoods with the facts/statistics I presented?

I can only think of one.  That the two players showed almost exactly equal proficiency in throwing the round brown thing through the round orange thing from a long distance.  Thus negating your silly "he loves me, he loves me not" posting.

For the life of me I can't figure out why this would be when both hit 3 pointers at a very similiar rate.  You must have some hidden agenda.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain and those "who frequent the game chats".  These game chatters on this board are usually short a couple of chromosomes.

Not from 3 point range he's not.  I haven't looked into their overall shooting percentages.

As soon as you present me with these statistics, I'll listen.

Carmine,

Your own eyes should have provided you with all this.  Take off the blinders.

hardy's foul shooting actually won us a game or 2 last year.  Cincy comes to mind.  Horne is a terrible foul shooter.  That should give you a good idea of who is the better shooter.  Horne was barely 50%.  thats terrible.

Also how much did we kill Hardy's 3pt% when we had him chuck up 3s off handoffs at the end of quasi close games?

Im sure that brought his percentage down a ton.

I think Carmine's got a point here, folks.  Hardy was awesome in the non-conference... then he was not.  He wasn't bad like Avery Patterson, but... well, read the link above.

Who do you want taking the last shot of a game?  I want Hardy.  Not taking anything away from Horne,  i like him as a player.

If Hardy has Brad Wanamaker or Dom Cheek draped all over him, and Paris is open in the corner, I might just want Paris.  Hardy is very good when he's open, and he's quick enough to get open.  But when he's not, he does force shots.

well, of course, in that scenario.

Peter, they were both pretty bad overall.
The thing is, Hardy showed occasionally, and Paris didn't.

We need to see different areas of improvement from each player.

Paris can't put it on the floor or give it up to save his life. He can't score outside of a three or a dunk, yet he's still a black hole.

Hardy needs to finish what he starts, or at least draw the foul. He settled for the three too often, and that might have been bec he wasn't strong enough to finish. Only AI can come into the BE a weakling and still dominate. That's a clear lack of prep imop.

Bottom line is both have plenty of work to do if they want to play in 10-11.
