Here is my prediction:  I think Mack's rating goes up after this summer and more players will be adding the Johnnies to their list of schools in the 2011 class (seems to have happen, as it looks like the Johnnies are on Quinn Cook and Nick Johnson).

I agree I fully expect to be listed with a lot more guys after Lavin is done recruiting for 2010 and can't start to focus on 2011.  I am excited about the players we could land.

I know Quinn, his mother (who was from the Bronx and raised in Hempstead), and a few guys on the DC Assault staff. At this point, I highly, highly doubt that he comes to St. John's. He grew up a UNC fan, but he's holding out for a big three offer. If it doesn't come, he'll still have great options.

Johnson is one of the better defenders in the class, has a nice mix of athleticism and skill for a combo, and was the nephew of Dennis Johnson, but I don't know where he's leaning.

Mack and Randall would be a great package deal. 

It would be amazing to land either Mack or Hinds to run the show in 2011.

I'm not counting on landing Cook, as I heard over a year ago that he was a fan of the Tar Heels.  Nevertheless, things can change over a period of time.  Cook has a long list of schools at the moment....  And, if the Johnnies somehow make it to the usual "final 5" list of schools a player usually announces....  Then, all bets are off on whether he becomes a Johnny or not.

I've actually never heard of Nick Johnson until now.  I knew of some of the top players in the 2011 class (Cook being one of several I've heard of), but I stopped paying attention to recruiting with Norm at the helm.  It was no longer fun following recruiting, so I've basically (very) casually followed it.

Nevertheless, I see Johnson is a top 50 guy in the 2011 class and he seems like a "bouncy" kid.  I think we'll have a better grasp on the players and their abilities, as well, as whom the Johnnies are seriously targeting and have legitimate chances of signing.

Quite frankly, this could be an interesting summer for Johnny fans.  It's been awhile since we've been able to say that and actually, have something to look forward to during AAU season. 

By the way, are you Deuce, Sleaveless one?  Or, the twitter link was placed there for kicks and giggles?

Yes, I heard Cook was the Met POY in D.C., this past season.  I won't get a chance to see Cook, as DC Assault isn't a summer team who plays at the NIKE Peach Jam (I don't believe they are NIKE affiliated).  I wished they were, as that would give me an opportunity to see Cook up close and personal. 

Maybe, he's not very serious about St. John's at this point.  Again....  I've casually followed his recruitment since I have a handful of friends who are fans of one of the schools whose recruiting Cook (G'town).  IMO, I also doubt he ends up, as a "Hated Hoya."

D.C. Assault is heavily Adidas-backed. The primary recruiter for Georgetown was David Cox, who used to work for Curtis Malone, but he's taken off for Rutgers. Given how bad the relationship is between DCA and Thompson, I doubt that Quinn, who is a die-hard DCA kid, would've gone there with Markel anyway. As for UNC, they would need to offer him to make the leaning part relevant.

If Lavin et al get one consensus top 100 player, I'd be satisfied.
If they get two, I'd be pleased.
Three and the BE better start looking out.

With the change in Nike policies, the Peach Jam, for your sake, should be the best in years.
