We should go after this 7'4" kid
« on: May 24, 2010, 11:19:30 PM »
Since Lavin touts his willingness and desire to recruit internationally, these 2 boys maybe right up his alley.  A 7'4" 17 year old and a 7'2" 15 year old.  They also say they want to find a school "close to Toronto."

they look super slow, super unathletic, and at points kinda clumsy running the floor...idk what style of play we'll be using in the future, but if these types of kids ever fit into it, ill be more upset with lavin than i was with norm...7'4, not necessary, gimme 6'9/6'10, than can run n' gun

Dan Gadzuric could run.  A little clumsy and he had small hands, but that dude could get up the court.

I don't think these kids would suck.  They're tall enough to make a difference on offense... don't look that clumsy for 7+ footers.

I actually spent the weekend with their "handler," who is actually one of my best friends.
He's visiting the LA schools with Sim this week and then bringing him to Pangos next weekend.

Gadz was actually the fastest guy on that Bruins team - including Baron Davis and Earl Watson.  Freaked everyone out when they went thru the drills that first time when he was a frosh.  Fastest runner, highest jumper.  He had two main issues at UCLA - he was asthmatic, so he never could play more than 23 minutes a game in any of his 4 seasons.  And he had focus issues - far too many fouls - Coach solved that by bringing him off the bench - let backup Sean Farnham play the first 3-5 minutes of the game - let Gadz settle down, see the flow of the game, how the refs were calling things, etc - then bring him in.   In his soph year, Gadz had had 5 games where he fouled ON THE OPENING TIPOFF.....

Thanks.  I remember a fatigue problem, didn't know it was asthma - thanks for filling that in.  I always loved his game.
