I just saw on an Iowa State board that Pelle postponed his visit today due to a family emergency.

I thought it might be due to the tornadoes in the midwest.  Who the hell would want to spend 4 years in Ames, IA?

Why don't you ask the 60,000 people who call it home?

Or we could ask no one, because the east coast does not hear about nor does it care about anything that happens in a useless flyover state.

As far as useless flyover states go, I hear Iowa isn't half bad. Then again, a woman from Newton, Iowa, provided me with three months of warm memories, so I may be a little biased.

Last year Money Magazine had Ames as the ninth best city to live in America.

"If the people who live here get bored, they have only themselves to blame. Besides Iowa State's cultural and athletic offerings, Ames boasts 36 parks, a bustling shopping district, and a new aquatic center."

It is, in fact, a great place to live, although I'm no so sure the new aquatic center is a big inducement for bb'ers from the NYC area.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I think you should let us know if you live in Iowa...

With no hint of sarcasm in your post..  This is probably one of the more ignorant statements I have ever read on this board. As an American I care about and worry about things that happen every where in the country.

Do you think the people of Iowa were saying "who cares what happens to the people in New York" after 9/11.?

PMG, I agree completely.  There are a few things to remember about Poison.

1.  If you committ to St. john's and don't end up showing up, he pulls a Regina George from Mean Girls on you, no matter the reason (his hatred for Jakar, Norvel, etc.).

2.  If you are from New York but don't want to stay home for college, he considers you a eunoch (his hatred for Sylven, Lance, etc.).

3.  When he goes to church, he prays:  "Our Boeheim, who art in Syracuse, hallowed be thy name....".

LJSA, despite my overalls and that stick of straw in my mouth, I'm pure NYC, born, bred, and SJU educated.

In all seriousness, St.John's is God's least favorite sports team next to the Cubs and Lions.
