I agree, but the result is that neither are eligible. And quite frankly, we shouldn't be pointing the finger at anyone with our track record. I used to believe that a kid with a troubled past could get on the straight and narrow at SJs. A kid like Thomas, but Pelle chose wrong when he chose us.

The reason Amir and Jakarr didn't get a pass after taking classes at Rise is because Pelle also got straight A's.  No one could believe that he aced the classes too.  That put a cloud over all their grades.  I don't think Pelle would be in a better place had he chosen any other school---unless that school gets some preferential treatment from the NCAA. Kentucky?

It would have been the smart thing for Pelle to simply enroll at a Citrus College and Juco. Ger acclimated to taking classes again and playing ball with practice. Having no structure in your life for a kid that has very little motivation is not a good thing.

Again?  You act like he has gone to classes in the past.  Doesn't sound like he did...

He obviously did because he graduated high school. 

Why is listed as "IONA"??  Since he seems other worldly why not list Otis Sistrunk's (old Oakland Raider for you young pups) school--The University of Mars.

Terrible reporting by Glockner (is that REALLY Sports Illustrated?) - the story is dated yesterday - and talks about someone taking a late 2nd round flyer on Pelle.    The kid withdrew from the draft like what - two weeks ago?

Can't since he rescinded his name from the draft.

I was going to post that too but I wasn't sure what that meant.  I mean he obviously can't play in college anymore since he missed their cutoff by, oh, two months.  Why would he rescind?  Even if its a long shot, he could have played D-League this year and hoped for a late season call up.   Now he can only play in Europe or D League with no chance for call up as unlikely as it might have been.  Next year's draft is supposed to be loaded so he won't likely get drafted then anyway.  I guess he wanted to keep the option open to play JUCO, NAIA or D 2 or 3 this year and see if he can prove himself draftable.   Good luck with that.
