I think he wants to be at SJU but doesn't want to get his hopes up.  I think the "god's hands" means he doesn't know where he's going to make it just yet.  The kid thought he was going to be eligible this season.  Then December, now next year.  If he doesn't get it done he might have to go JUCO next year.  He can say he's headed to SJU but I think he doesn't want to say anything prematurely at this point.  At least that's how I read it.  Let him get qualified, then we'll see.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I believe its clear he still wants to come to STJ, getting qualified is another story. Stay positive Norvel, you can do it.

I don't think we can read too much into Norvel's response.  That said, I hope his answer to SDSU on Monday is no thanks.

right.  the "sign" was a fortune that read "it's not in your character to give up."  so i take amir's response to mean that norvel has given up on stj.

anyway, all this is speculation.  but i've given up on norvel. seems like a young, indecisive, fragile teenager who appears to have been home sick since the summer.  i actually think it's best for him to stay in Cali.  i think he needs to have a good support system constantly around him.  i hope whatever decision he makes, that it's best for his mental being.

It's silly to psychoanalyze if you aren't going to read all the info.  He also has commented recently that he now knows why he left the west coast, and made allusions that leaving was good for his mental well being. That said, nobody knows what he's gong to do.  All we can do is hope that he follows his commitments through and attends SJU.  In the end, I think that SJU is a place that he'll get a lot of support that he won't at most other places both on and off the court.
