Let him walk on

Or perhaps let him walk to us.  In other words, if he truly wants to re-up his commitment, he needs to show us he's committed to doing what it takes to play CBB at SJU.

Agreed.

He's not even in school now so I don't think he can be eligible to play for us. It sounds like his only options are a partial qualifier(UNLV or SDSU) or a JUCO. If he stayed at Phelps at least he was trying to become eligible. But by leaving school it seems like he's ok with JUCO or a partial qualifier. I would guess that we have already moved on just like all the other major program that were in contact with him at one point have.

The picture is clearer on Pelle now.  Thanks for the posts here.  Sounds like he is off the radar -- or put himself off the radar.  What a shame, since so many of us were enthusiastic about him.

I hope I'm wrong and he did go back to school. At the beginning of the school year it looked on his twitter like he was making an effort to get his academics straight. He didn't play ball at Phelps so I was hoping he could get it done even if he didn't come here. It would be a shame to waste his talent in Juco.

Last year we were able to take the risk on him.  This year we don't have that luxury.

I don't think we had that luxury this year.

Yes we did.  9 schollies out of the gate you could take a risk on higher ranked possible question marks.  We know a couple didn't work out.  Now we don't have that luxury this year.  Maybe in 2014 we can again.

I would agree if we had Polee coming back, and another lunch pail big man, but this current team deserved a chance to have a full roster. Not asking for 13 players, but give me 10.

10 would've let our guys practice 5 on 5 against D1 scholarship players, a novel concept.

The way to accomplish that would have been to recruit 12 players, not tell top 100 players you won't accept them.

I guess he is back at Phelps and playing ball now. they have a game today in the national prep school invitationals

Friday, February 3rd- Worcester Academy(MA) vs Phelps School(PA)
Neither one of these schools is incredibly well known in recruiting circles, but Worcester Academy is coming off a huge win over Rhode Island’s former top team, St. Andrew’s, and Phelps features one of the more intriguing players in the entire event. Norvel Pelle, formally of Compton, California, is a five-star true center that will present a ton of problems for Worcester’s front line. Guarding the 6’10’’ star will be a tall order(pun intended), but Worcester Academy’s point guard Rene Castro should give Phelps all it can handle on the perimeter.

He's not listed on Phelps roster.  And he was earlier in the year.

What does that mean in terms of his eligibility?

Maybe, he'll still be 18 when the AAU season starts.
