Omari Lawrence to K State. Nice backcourt with him and Shane Southwell. Think fresh start there should do him well.

Wasn't Omari quoted as saying K-State didn't have any scholarships and 'something would have to be done'?  Wonder how the scholarship situation shook out.

Omari's going to walk on to K-State?!  No offense to his friends and family, and I don't know his financial situation, but isn't that expensive?

As far as the school's scholarship situation, which had raised eyebrows since the New York-born slasher was first linked to the Wildcats in early June, well, that issue has now been put to rest as well. Though details still are yet to be finalized, Lawrence fully intends to join the team as a walk-on and attempt to earn a scholarship going forward.

"We haven't discussed it all the way just yet, but I think I'm just going to walk-on when I get there and redshirt that season," he said.

I think Kansas state's in-state tuition is cheap. They were known to do that for football players in the past.  Maybe there's a loophole he can get through as I'm sure there is a residency requirement.  I don't know the details of how they did it for their football players.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

As many of you know this is big time top 10 basketball we are talking about. Omari will be taken care of and some. I'm sure he's straight. He just needs to keep putting up 30 point games at Orchard Beach and Dykman. Saw Corey Fisher the other day at tournament in the Bronx. He may be the best gaurd in the Big East this year.

Taken care..?  please do expl;ain what that means.

If he is walking on, he is either taking out loans or his family received a massive amount of financial aid.

Oh, you know what it means - you're experienced enough to know!!  And this is just idle chatter; I don't think thatswhatsup knows/ or is free to say exactly what that may entail.  And I'm not trying to jam some kid up.

I'm sure the school will do what they can to find him a nice student worker job on campus, help him with financial aid, etc.

From the Topeka Capital-Journal: http://cjonline.com/interact/blog/austin_meek/2010-06-29/omari_lawrence

Lawrence, reached by phone Tuesday night, said K-State is his choice, but he's waiting to iron out some details with coach Frank Martin.

"I'm waiting on coach to call me back," Lawrence said. "We have to finalize a few things this week."

There's a little more detail if you click the link.

I was just told - and I'm sure it's out there - that St. John's transfer Omari Lawrence is headed to Cloud County JC and not Kansas State

Although he's used to losing in front of 2k people,
he'd have to hear the annual Pecora whine
about how unfair it is that Fordham has to compete
for a conference championship in the South (albeit Southern Jersey  ;) )
when the appropriately named FU gets bounced in the first round of the A-10 tourney in Atlantic City

If he didnt like hearing Norm and Lavin telling him to lose weight and get in shape, whats he going to do when Frank Martin gets in his grill?
