Tyrone Johnson at #37 is way too high.

Norvel Pelle at #94 is a joke. That kid's body and athleticism alone put him in the top 50 if he couldn't dribble a basketball.

He's an enigmatic prospect. I know their West Coast editor loved those aspects, but it's just that his lack of effort and consistency sends off red flags.

He enjoyed major physical advantages over kids his own age, as a younger prospect. The other kids matured and, as one NY recruiting analyst put it, Wroten "rested on his laurels."

It's always interesting to see how the creme de la creme kids deal with initial success. Some let their guard down, while others, recognizing the target on their back, keep pushing themselves. Family and friends can have an effect through pushing, coddling, or supporting.

In terms of this one, it's a fair one. Personally, I would've moved up Levi Randolph, Rakeem Christmas, Josiah Turner, Pelle, Mikael Hopkins, and Tyler Adams, while moving down Mike Chandler, Marshall Plumlee, Gary Bell, and Bishop Daniels .

I'm not a huge Jack fan but a little surprised at the disparity between Rivals and ESPN rankings. Also this class lacks big men so he naturally moves up a bit.

Agreed.  I think Jack will settle in the 80-90 range before the last lists come out, but he has to be on there now.

Isn't this his prep year?  Or did he leave Rice early?  If it's Jack's prep year then ESPN may not be considering him as 2011.

This is a really assanine post.  I'm about one more of these ridiculous responses from you from never posting on your site again.  What's with you lately?
I haven't seen him play in person.  I've seen plenty of tape on him and talked to and read writeups from people I trust.  I actually prefer seeing video of players to sitting in a crowded gym 150 feet away like I used to do all the time.

If we are only allowed to have opinions on players we've seen in person these boards would be awfully useless, no? 

FTR, I've never seen Michael Jordan play in person, but I am pretty confident he was a good player.  Also, I don't need to see much tape on a kid that can run up and down the floor like a SF and can touch the rim standing flat-footed. 

I just asked you a question because you've been coming up with a lot of info lately. Not sure why you are flipping out. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I was simply just wondering how you came to formulate your opinion. Thats fair, right?

Personally I can't judge the ceiling of a guy's potential off a mixtape but if you can more power to you. I know there is only about three 1 min clips of Pelle out on youtube so personally for someone who hasn't seen him play live I find it hard to really gauge a lot about him other than he's 6'8 and agile.

Anyways here is two videos on both Pelle and Jack. To me I think they look fairly comparable players.

PS It's a shame you didn't get to see Jordan in person. Luckily I did and he dropped 30+ on the Nets. I also saw Lebron's first game at the Garden my freshman year at St. John's.

I think Pelle is more agile than Jack, who plays above the rim, but not to the extent that Pelle seems to.  But I haven't seen him for a whole game, and I can say I've seen Rice on TV.  And that's a good point. Jack looks awesome in his highlights but I swear that the couple of games that were shown last year (Rice/ Cardozo and the other one - I think Jack played in both?) there were stretches that I forgot he was there. 

Granted, I was watching Ryan Rhoomes b/c I thought he might be a realistic get, despite the presence of Nacleiro.

But Pelle looks effortless off the ground.  Like he doesn't even need a step to get up.

The couple of times I've seen Jack in person, he seems to be incredibly quick getting off the floor on defense.  He shows a natural instinct for blocking shots.  I don't think he is very polished offensively.  He kind of reminds me of Hamady N'Diaye.

Man, when the college game started clicking for N'Diaye, he was so impressive. But he's a solid bit taller than Jack, and Kadeem won't be able to play like that in college.
