Holy crap dude looked good.

First off he put on a lot of muscle and perhaps 5 inches onto his vertical. No exaggeration he looked really good and best yet he's only a Sophomore. I think he's going to surprise some people and make a career for himself here.

I could not agree more Q Roberts is going to be a player for us. And I mean this year. I also thhought Brownlee looked in great shape.  I really think these 2 guys are going to play lots and lots of minutes this year.

i couldn't agree more.  he looked great.  hopefully, he'll prove to the coaches he can put the ball in the hoop and most importantly, play some "d".

Good to hear.  I liked Quincy from the beginning. ( not the most popular position on here).  He's got good size, decent jumper and can go strong to the hoop.  Hope he proves a lot of people wrong.

Quincy has always had good size and a decent jumper.

He needs to work on his handle, and play making ability.

Him and Stith aren't exactly going to roll over for this new class and ride the pine.  We'll need their leadership and hardwork.

I don't think they are going to roll over for this years SR class. Quincy is going to play a lot of minutes this year. I would not be surprised if he won a starting job this year.

What position could Quincy start at?

I see no reason why Quincy would not be in the running to start at the 2 or the 3. Just because players are Sr. does not mean they should be given a starting Job.

IMO we have a new coach and all starting job should be up for grabs.

I would really doubt that any player on this team would sniff DJ's starting job. It's clear the team needs him on the floor, and leading.

And from what it sounds like, Hardy might be the 2, not Horne.

I hope Quincy has improved, but there are guys in front of him now. Next year would be his time, unless of course we have our classic SJU injuries.

If harrison is as good as advertised, there is no way quincy starts next year.  None.  Not to mention lavin wants to show that the guys he recruits get pt.

Remember that one of the knocks on Harrison was his defensive intensity.  And depending on who else they recruit (i.e., they may not want to have 4 alpha-scorers on the floor at the same time for chemistry/ ball-movement purposes), staff may want to bring Harrison off the bench as a straight gunner, at least in his first year.

Hard to say without getting a feel of how Lavin wants to run this team.

I'm sorry but prior to anointing Quincy ANYTHING, let's see him perform.  He can jump, and looks strong, and did well in a scrimmage where no one tried.

Until he proves something on the court, I'm going to go with the guy rated as one of the most prolific scorers in his class over Quincy, a former 3 star recruit who we HOPE MAY be a diamond in the rough.

If Quincy proves himself this year, then I'll reverse it and say it's Quincy's until D'Angelo proves it.  But currently, I think everyone would expect D"Angelo.

According to Scout Harrison is the 18th ranked 2 guard in his HS class. Where would QR, a 20 yo 6'5" fourth year college junior rank among those same HS guards?  He'd have to be pretty high, no? He might not shoot the three as well as Harrison (who knows, I haven't seen him) but you have to figure QR plays more D and is a better rebounder and passer. He'll also have the advantage of a year in the system and  four years in the weight room. There's going to be a lot of new faces next year and somebody's going to have to lead by example - my money's on QR.

Where, how much could he play? You could never have too many good players, but unfortunately for Quincy he is stuck behind two of our three best players who both play his position.

Yes by all means, let's not annoint D'Angelo Harrison ANYTHING until we see him perform. Oh wait, not Harrison, Quincy Roberts, let's not annoint him ANYTHING, but by all means let's annoint some HS senior you never heard of until last week as a sure fire starter on a team with 6 scholarships left to fill. I take it you've been down in Texas scouting Harrison. How was the weather?

I actually like Quincy's game but I simply do not see how he will get PT this year. Hardy and Horne are probably the teams 2nd and third best players. Quincy def will be an asset next year but if he does not get any run this season he will have basically sat around for two years.

Quincy will get playing time this year because we wil have games where players gets into foul trouble.

We will also have injuries.

Quincy looked stronger, but the parts of his game that needed the most work are his ball handling and passing.

If he has dramatically improved those areas, he'll play a lot. If he's mildy improved them, he'll play a little.

As far as D'Angelo Harrison, I have not seen him, but i do know that he's considered to be one of the best shooters in the country.
