Iona really has a basketball team? I thought you were kidding all this time. It was my impression that they discontinued the program after Steve Burtt left. This is really news to me. See all this time I thought the number one recreation at Iona was hog watching.

The big issue for the team is when St. John's NEEDS a bucket who do they go to? How do they go about doing that? The half court sets are below average right now.

Of course. The last time the MAAC got an at large bid was 1995 with Manhattan College. That didnt work out too well for Oklahoma.

Dave, they have no real low post scorer and their best player, while a good solid BE player is not really suited for being a GO TO player. I think the whole point of playing zone is to create some to's and score points that way.

We beat Bryant by how many last year?  They then beat Iona.  That's the point I'm trying to drive home to Marco.  Yes Iona beat Richmond.  Congrats but every dog has its day.  And that same dog lost to Bryant who has been in D1 what 2-3 yrs?

Richmond just beat #8 Purdue(not #10) by 11 points.  Howd that happen?

How did this thread turn into a discussion about Iona, who cares about them? This thread should be moved somewhere else if Iona is the topic.
