Puzzling starting line up. I think Depaul could beat that line up.

On the broadcast, Erin was talking about how Tony and Rico were talking to the team about "swagger."  (Imagine Iverson's "practice?" voice)... swagger?  Start handling business before swagger...

The Seahawks were good, though. Team has a long way to go, especially on defense. People are excited about what St. John's did against Drake but... there are flaws with this kind of press.

  LOl.

I happen to agree. He's giving everyone a shot, except maybe Quincy.  Did he play?

I think I heard his name. Did Burrel play?    Where the hell was Coker?

I'm not gonna lie, Hurley although he was the biggest whiner I've ver seen had that team well coached, especially for a group with 3 freshman in the starting 5.  Ugly 2nd half but whatever we have to get better and lay it on the Bonnies Tuesday.

Somebody on this team has to show some character, some leadership,something.. Get mad, dunk on someones head, do something to get  this team pumped up.  Intensity maybe?

Burrell played hard for the first 3 minutes, and took the rest of the night off.

The first half wasn't bad but they had zero energy after the first few minutes of the second half.  The refs called the game a bit too closely.  The fouls mounted on both sides and the game slowed to a crawl.  Hopefully, they were still recovering from the Alaska trip.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but the intense travel schedule is about as serious an excuse as I miss my mommy.

These are seniors.

Florida lost tonight to michael jordan's son.   Atleast we won.   Seems like we are still figuring things out but thats ok.  I have a feeling lavin is playing these games different than he will the be season.

Completely agree. You could even see the rotation against Ball State and Drake was much different than it was against ASU.

Free throws killed us tonight. Shot 17/30. Also 17% from 3 point range. Besides that I thought we played well. DJ and Brownlee were huge. Paris and JB were all over the offensive boards. The Malik's played great defense we forced alot of turnovers.
Agree that the Hurley's did a good job. Hurley was going crazy on the sideline and his team was fought until the end. The score was close at the end but the game was never really in jeopardy. At the end of the game Wagner didn't even try to guard boothe by the 3 point line. Stith replaced him down the stretch. I think we are going to see more of that.
Lavin said on the post game that players didn't start because of academic reasons. He didn't get into specifics but it seemed like DJ and Brownlee missed some classes. I think the team is improving they looked better then Columbia.

Wagner substantially out rebounded SJU (40 to 33).  Wagner.  This won't fly in the BE. A win is a win but this is not an encouraging one.  Hardy needs to hit the bench until he can find his shot.  Bring in Coker already! No more double Maliks on the floor at the same time.  Booth, Horne, DJ, Brownlee, Burrell

Hardy needs to get out of this shooting slump. We need him shooting well from long range but right now hes not even making his shorter field goals. Burrell needs to be more aggressive but we have been saying that for 3 years so its never going to happen. Brownlee played well along with DJ, those are two guys who can score in bunches. Wagner played a solid game, they were not that bad. As a side note why cant Horne hit a free throw, its got to be something mental because hes a good shooter.

Well Lavin said the lineup shake up was for disciplinary reasons (due to class attendance) and to reward those who were playing well.

- Free throws, free throws, free throws...jesus this team sucks at them right now.

- game shouldn't have been this close, but it's a win and I'll take it.

- Very happy to see DJ take his frustrations of not being in the startling lineup (which he said was the right move for coach to do) and drop 20 tonight, hopefully we see that more and more all year.

- Brownlee is simply amazing, coming off the bench and he still dominated. If he doesn't win multiple Big East honors this year I'll be shocked.
