Isaiah has been at lincoln now 3 years. And tiny has prob even known Isaiah before that. You never know what tiny has done for Isaiah or his family over this time. All Isaiah could be doing is returning the favor.

I'm told no final Isaiah Whitehead decision has been made, but I'd personally be shocked if it's not Seton Hall. #shbb

So Hall hires Antingua, who's family had been at St. Ray's for over a decade and has ties all over the city, and then rescinds the offer two weeks into his tenure?

That would burn more bridges within the city then hiring Morton would build for them.

I'll take yesterday's quotes from Whitehead's mom and AAU coach saying that it's a priveledge to play at St. John's over today's Hall "website" controversy. I'm now cautiously optimistic, but this seems like dirty business on Willard's part, I like the silence from our camp this morning.

If hiring Tiny was the deal maker then there was really nothing SJU could do about it-at the same time if that was/is the reason that he opts for SHU then I'm not that disappointed since we were never a lock as had been reported. It's not sour grapes on my part as I believe Issaaih can do well at either SJU or SHU.  I think he would help SHU more if he goes there, but himself more at SJU at least if playing in the Ncaa tourny is one of his goals. Less than 50% chance of making it to NCAA's from SHU and probably about an 80%-90% chance if he goes to SJU. Just mho.

This is why HS ball is dead in the city and why these kids leave for prep.

Maybe the Antigua offer was contingent upon angel Delgado being a qualifier

What I don't get is why would a parent ever let a coach leach onto their kid? If a hs coach tried to sell himself as a package deal with my son I would tell him to go f himself.

We will see what happens in a few hours

This type of "package deal" helps nobody except Tiny and his family.  If Whitehead pulls his coach and family with him, he just looks like a clown.  Willard isn't changing any offense for Isaiah.  Isaiah starts both there or here.  He's a good player and will get top minutes regardless.

It is a sad situation if the kid thinks he needs Mortin for anything.  If anything he will have more freedom at SJU getting away from Morton, not latching to him.  Hopefully he shocks everybody and says NO.

This has been going on forever. Kids dads have been hired, see Manning and Wagner. HS coaches have always been in play and didn't one of Tark's asst coaches actually try to adopt Lloyd Daniels? This is nothing out of ordinary!

You need high school kids doing "favors" for you, then you are a hanger-on and opportunist.  Earn your own position, don't have a high school kid buy it for you.

I'm sure you'd be saying the same thing if Lavin hired Tiny to get Whitehead.

I would.  I have never cared for that type of recruiting.  I'd be disappointed.   We've landed other good players without doing it.  I'd rather Tiny Morton take his purple suit somewhere else even if it means losing Isaiah Whitehead.  No problem..

How great would it be if Lavin hires Morton, kid comes here and MCNPA has to figure out a way to spin that  ;D

Good luck to Pirates. Hopefully Tiny does not get them put on probation.

what i dont understand is why would a kid schedule an announcement before a decision is made.  and if for whatever reason there is last minute fluctuation he should post pone the decision.  what's the urgency??  Make a sound decision and rest on for a week or so before announcing!

This is college recruiting. Sad, but it's not 2:30 yet.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

No spin.  We'd have to dump Chiles, Hines or Whitesell to do so and that won't happen.  If it did happen I'd be disappointed.  I'd still support my team, but there's no spin to offer.  We don't have to do that and shouldn't.  I understand hiring guys with connections to AAU programs to form some ties etc, but this is bribery flat out.  Not my cup of tea.  I'd like us to stay as above the table as possible.
