Sounds like lip service.

It really isn't.

Well we've been on him for a long, long time but he has never really seemed to reciprocate interest.  I don't believe Lavin would back off the kid for any other reason.  Something odd about this, but I'm not sure what.

My view:

We have learned a few things about Lavin's recruiting style.  Number one, he will pursue anyone he thinks will help our team, regardless of ranking or geographic location.  Second, once interest from a prospective recruit is not reciprocal (regardless of when in the process this occurs), or gets to a point where the staff views its time is being wasted for whatever reason, we bail.  Reading the tea leaves, if Lavin and Co. is not pursuing Whitehead, it is because they have developed the understanding that continuing to do so would be a waste of our resources.  No other explanation makes sense.

We also know that Lavin will not kiss the ass of a kid or his handlers.  (See Jermaine Lawrence thread).

“@NYPost_Brazille: I was told Isaiah Whitehead's trip to Indiana went very well and Hoosiers are a legit option now. He met Victor Oladipo during visit. #iubb”

“@NYPost_Brazille: Should be quiet for the next week or so on Isaiah Whitehead's commitment. Look for official visit dates after labor day.”

They should be on his list if he's looking to get to the NBA as quickly as possible. He'll get a ton of shots, and Delgado will scoop up the misses and kick it right back out to him.

Recruit harder!!!! How is Ed Cooley eating our lunch!  How is Willard cleaning our clock.  To have sustained success, we have to keep bringing in talent

Cooley didn't 'clean our clock' when we got JaKarr and Primo, heck Cooley even troted out the mayor of Providence, whose roots are from the DR, when Primo visited.  He's gotten one recruit who we weren't heavily involved with, Chukwu.  Willard got Delgado but I'll take my chances when lavin goes head to head with him for major recruits in the future.

I took that post (Beamer's) as a joke.  I guess it wasn't.

Somehow it seems that Joe, and his medium t-shirt, has managed to multiply this offseason ( we know not through conventional methods)...

Amazing how soon people forget.. Plenty to criticize w. Re: to on the court stuff.  The recruiting though?  I mean, open your eyes.   Did some of you just become fans in the last 2-3 years?  Serious question.

The biggest problem I see w his recruitment, is he wants a lot of PT as a FR. Don't think he will get it here. What is. Lavin to do? ask DLO to sit on the bench
