As President of the Harrison fan club my comment is pretty telling.
And what it's telling us is that you've about lost your mind. Harrison is on pace to graduate as the third leading scorer in SJ history. If he's here his senior year he'll be a 22 year old grown ass junk yard dog and Lavin would have to be stupid or insane to start a freshman over him. And I don't think Lavin is insane.
I like Harrison a lot, and I think it would take an immensely talented freshman to take minutes away from him as a senior (more talented than Whitehead for ex). But lets not make him out to be a great scorer. It might sound like semantics but he's a very good player and scorer. There is a difference.
He'll owe his place in the SJU record books in large part to the opportunities he's been given. How many players in SJU history have gotten 35+mins from the jump? How many have gotten 14+ shot attempts as freshmen and sophomores? He had a green light from the day he walked in the door, and this past season he showed me he was much more of a volume shooter than the efficient scorer we'd like him to be.
And this past season wasn't just a result of seeing double teams and having a poor cast around him; his free throw shooting dropped to 76% too.
Again, he's our best player, and I can't imagine a freshman coming in and taking his spot in the lineup. But, if all the accolades we heap on him are deserved, then he's got to play better than he did last year.
