Same here CR. We have some great message boards and fans here. Glad you appreciate them and i think all of us appreciate you here. I still maintain though, that a good senior or two on our roster should not be a deterrent, but six five star guys coming in at the same time certainly should.
There is a huge difference in interpretation. Whitehead knows he can automatically get at least 20 minutes per game as he'd be in the top 3 talent-wise in the SJU backcourt with Rysheed and Harrison. Harrison, Branch and Greene will all be seniors. He can easily expect to be the shoe-in at SG next to Rysheed at PG after those guys are gone, and he will still be guaranteed huge minutes his first season.
Louisville he'd have no idea where he'd shake out in the first season nor the 4th and he might be there that long if he gets beat out the first season or two by the other 5-star talent. Everything is situational - I was responding to the generality. The mindset regarding these "savior" high school kids has simply gotten ridiculous. In this "one and done" era, I honestly think a lot of younger fans don't really KNOW what a senior laden team means!
Fans at that other school to this day LAMENT that Darren Collison helped their demise by selfishly RETURNING for his senior season, instead of graciously stepping aside so that "super recruit" Jrue Holiday could step in and lead them to a National Championship as a Freshman. And DC had just led the team to 2 straight final fours, and had been a 22 minute a game 6th man on a 3rd as a freshman, and was a 3rd team All American. Mind you this lament comes KNOWING that Jrue was a guaranteed one and done, and the fact that year DC produced 14.4 pts, 6.3 assists, shot 51% FGs, 40% 3s, 90% FTs, while the sulking Holiday kicked in 8.5 pts, 3.8 assists, shot 47% FGs, 31%3s and 73% FTs.
