Did Barry seal the deal today?

Hope I'm wrong but don't have a good feeling about this one.  Get the sense the kid wants to leave the area but Mom wants him close.  Hope Mom wins.

Kinda felt the same way. I like Lavin in these situations though

Why would he schedule the announcement so soon if he hadn't already decided?  And if has decided and it isn't St. John's, why would he bother with the visit?  Just speculating.  In any event, I won't get excited until it is announced.  This whole thing is developing so quickly.

Pitt is a non option from what I've heard.  Too late to the dance.

Didn't even think of that part of the equation. I want him badly but if it's not us id like it to be the hall.

I don't think it will be Pitt.  In addition, why a dynamic guard like Whitehead would want to play in Dixon's offense is beyond me??  I think it will be SJU.  Everybody has been doubting Lavs.  This is when he comes through and grabs a top 15 player.  A, B, C it Lavin!  We've been all over this kid from the beginning.  We'd be killer with Jordan and Whitehead backcourt.

That's how it was shaping up with Rysheed too.  Similar scenarios.  Fingers crossed...

let's think about the developments the last few days:

1. lavin makes the call
2. Under Armour deal is announced
3. New unis revealed
4. DLo posts this on IG today:  "Exited to play for @coachlav64 again and my team as well and unleash on opponents this year!! #family"
5.  IW announces final decision date

very much an orchestrated effort it appears.

Two weeks ago Seton Hall wasn't on his list, and it appeared like we weren't recruiting him anymore.   Now, he's making an announcement and it's likely one of the two? Crazy.

I've got a bad feeling, but I also have a hard time seeing Lavin lose a NYC kid to Seton Hall.  We'll just have to wait and see.   Maybe tomorrow's visit blows him away.  That's what I'm hoping for.

a lot of time kids who've been to our campus never get to see the green space and dorms.  most of the time all local kids get to see is CA

SJU fans always have a "bad feeling". Those are the cards we've been dealt for sooo long.  Low expectations like Crgreen used to say.  We've been on him for years longer than Seton Hall, and Whitehead's mom loves Lavin and Co.  I just don't see him heading there at this point.  His AAU coach's comments also aren't overly flattering  with something like "oh yeah,  Seton Hall is good too...".

His mom wants to see him play and if he stays home, which I'm thinking he will do at this point, it will likely be SJU.

"Since Isaiah Whitehead was supposed to visit Minnesota in the near future and a few of their recruiting writers have guessed that he will go to Seton Hall, I would think they aren't likely to land Whitehead. I've also heard that Pittsburgh doesn't have much of a shot. Whitehead has recently visited both Indiana and Seton Hall, and will visit St. John's tomorrow. My opinion is that Whitehead will choose between those three programs, with St. John's being the popular pick. However, Seton Hall has as good of a chance as anyone."

If SJU visit is huge, Lavin just needs to seal it and IMO, things are leaning in our favor.  We know he can do that.
