Nah on this one wasju I would have personally slapped the hell out of Lav if he hired tiny. It wouldn't have worked and his personality is just as big as Lav. It would have been world war 3 in that office. If its true its the right decision

I am just busting balls KOB. I don't follow HS ball so I can't get on coaches for recruiting. I never even killed Norm for his recruiting,
I have said before though I have no problem with crooked coaches or programs. If I was a college coach I would put Tark and Cal to shame. My motto would be "Cheat to win". I am fan don't care how the players got there, just want to watch good players. To each his own though. Just my thoughts

Desperate move by a desperate program.. We will be fine. Don't get me wrong,  I would have down cartwheels if he picked us...  But this isn't the end of the world.

A week ago, no one thought we had a shot anyway..

regardless, if he does go SH,  people should be classy and not go after the kid, via twitter.. I know most of peeps on here aren't like that, but would hate to see any ugliness associated with STJ..

Let the kid have his moment.   In the end, going BE is important.

It sounds like we never had a shot but tiny was smart enough to use us for leverage

Agreed -- and I don't think any one recruit is worth hiring an assistant coach for.  If hiring Tiny meant getting Whitehead, I'd pass.  But we aren't anywhere near Seton Hall's situation.

I don't think our fan base will do that but it's not really his moment. Tiny should sit at the table and put on the hat. I hope the press writes about the hall hiring tiny and not just make this seem like he chose shu over sju

Agreed they should never be invited to play us at the garden again. Lets see how that helps their nyc recruiting

Agree, lose the same way you win, with class.

Like others said, it has been happening forever.  I'm just curious who Seton Hall gets rid of from its staff -- Shaheen, Hill or Antigua.  The latter two were only recently hired, so that is a pretty gutless and shady thing to do to them.

I don't think it's in stone yet let's see what happens at 2:30. But if I was a betting man I would say tiny to the hall

Whether right or wrong on your moral compass, the bottom line is that SHU pulled out all of the stops to land IW and we didn't.  SHU lands a kid like him once every 30 years, so it was clearly worth it for them to do what they apparently did.  On to the next one.

Kids want to play with their old coach.  That doesn't surprise me.
And Tiny's been a successful basketball coach at the HS level.   It's not like hes unqualified to be a D1 assistant.

The classless move here is letting go of an assistant you just hired, for the purpose of signing a kid.   If they had an opening on their staff this wouldn't look nearly as bad.  At least in my eyes.

Their board said they had 2 open spots
