Wow

Adam Zagoria ‏@AdamZagoria
Tiny Morton said he spoke to Steve Lavin today and asked him whey they didn't a spot for him at #stjbb

Wow is right. If you are tiny why do you say that? Just shows you are shopping the kid IMO.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

PMG, please tell me how we needed Whitehead next year. No one in the backcourt is going to the pro's next Spring.

2014-15: D/Phil/Felix/Jamal/Sheed

So with Whitehead, it would've been 6 guards in the rotation; including 3 seniors and 2 top25 talents? Allocating minutes would've been fun there.

Our backcourt is STACKED for the next 2 years. The recruiting focus from the get go this year has stressed our frontcourt with Sanchez and Gift leaving. Idk why we strayed away from that.

And let me repeat, Phil and D'Angelo definitely took notice of this, and they're going to take it out on opponents this winter. D'Angelo will be 1st team all BE for what should be the 2nd year in a row.

Nothing St. John's could do. He was all set to come and Seton Hall swooped in literally last minute with transparent within the rules move. Crazy.

Whitehead would have been great at St. John's but he is a player that can be replaced and not needed in '14. Team will have plenty of depth at the position and can reload in '15 and '16.

Short term this helps Seton Hall but long term they are playing with dynamite.

Seton Hall obviously acted sleazy here. Personally I have no problem with sleazy, but I understand the ire. With that being said I do think I am missing something. Some of you are acting like SH is on a different plane from SJU. My question is have you people not been watching for last 10 years??

The last 10 years Seton Hall 166-146
2 NCAA's 1 NIT

SJU-133-167
1 NCAA 1 NIT

Kid picking the Hall over us regardless of the circumstances should not be shocking. Again unless I am missing something

It's shocking because we have 5 + top 50 kids, and they have, let me see, ahh yes, zero.

SJu IS on a different plane from Seton Hall. And no kid would ever pick SH over SJ without some shady goings on, which is exactly what happened.

im glad Lavin didnt stoop and hire this guys coach just to land him, thats a desperate small-time school move and tacky.

Now i know why Lousville & Cuse went in different direction regarding this kids recruitment. Both coaches have been around long enough to smell sleaze and corruption when its oozing off of some recruits handlers and "advisors"

I would not have, and to be honest, I'm almost glad we missed on this guy.  My concern is that we keep missing out on top guys.  Recruit with integrity, with guys who want to be here.  Schools like Duke, Cuse, and Louisville are able to load rosters with talented kids who like to compete.  I don't blame IW for going to Seton Hall for PT, but going some place and competing makes you better at life.  Steel Sharpens Steel.

You cannot deny that 2014 is off to a terrible start.  Sustained winning will foster a more fluid recruiting situation.

The day you say SJU doesn't need Top 20 players is the day you lose you mind.

People thought Harrison was a goner after last year and now you think he will be a 4 year player.?

Lets see how Phil Green rects to very limited minutes this year ( as long as everyone is healthy)

You highlighted the issue here.  It's probably best that the Whitehead circus is headed to South Orange.  But we do not have a single 2014 target.  Zero.

Delarosa has been mentioned with us 1 time, and he's a project to begin with.  Other than that, are there any known potential incoming freshmen next year?

We shouldn't be losing recruits to the likes of Rutgers and Seton Hall...I love what Lavin has done, but maybe instead of posting a million instagram photos of soho, he should get out and get after these recruits....

I said I would eat crow if IW came here, but it seems as if my old statement stands....

Willard and Cooley are eating our lunch!
hopefully your comment is made tongue in cheek..if not, ?????

Someone needs to tell IW to keep quiet.  These comments make him seem very selfish.

Making more and more sense why he's shied away from the other big time schools.  Wants to be a big fish in very small pond.

That's my question. Maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand how IW was all set to come to SJU, without Morton, and then simply because SH offers Tiny and whomever else a job, he changes his mind. How does that affect his life one bit? You're going to change a major life decision because of something which wont benefit you in the least, but will benefit someone else? Or is he completely unaware of the side deal and Tiny just pushed him there under the pretense that its the best thing for him? Something's not adding up here.
