If you read Morton's quote closely he said he spoke to Lavin and Lavin had him going everywhere and he asked him why he doesn't have a position for him at St John's. Sounds to me like Lavin was trying to get an assistant's job for Tiny somewhere else so he could land IW but Tiny wanted something big locally. Just what I read into his quote who knows if it is even accurate or true.

Just not on my staff " kind of thingLavin basically blowing him off by saying nice things to him hoping he leaves him alone about adding him to his staffMaybe I misinterpreted it

Lavin did not entertain the idea of adding him to the staff to get IW.

Coaches help former players and former coaches. I can't see Lavin helping him land somewhere.
Sina, Whitehead, Delgado, and Morton's kid... Correct me if I'm wrong ( I don't follow this stuff too closely) That's 4 players brought into SH as part of package deals with their Hs coaches?

Spoke to someone extensively today who is very close to the situation. St. John's could of had whitehead. They just didn't recruit him. They shoes away from the package deal from jump street. Instead lavin suggested making a recommendation fr an under armour gig but that wasn't good enough. St. John's was in the lead once boheim told Isaiah he might not start his freshman year. But even then lavin was up front in saying he would start but may not b the focal point. And that's where things died down. Seton hall was the choice even before the visit. All the visit was for is to see if lav would up the stakes seton hall had already offered. But lav didn't go for it. The package to seton hall had been decided since elite 24 but they just had to wait things out.

It's not that they didn't recruit him.. They didn't kiss his ass and tell him everything he wanted to hear. How about earning a starting position and earn the right to be the focal point? Enjoy S. Orange.

I'm not sure how much I like hearing about offering jobs to coaches to under armour. Matter of fact I don't like it at all.
