They need to do A lot but I doubt they are capable. Early in the season we pointed out problems in the zone and NOTHING has been done to fix it.

Still leaving players wide open, mostly in the corners, the rotation from baseline to baseline on the 1-2-2 is PUTRID.

How do you fix that? I don't know...be quicker...DITCH THE FREAKING ZONE ALL TOGETHER...

Boothe Stith and Evans should NEVER ever see the floor together, not in practice, not accidentally walking during a water break..never.

I feel like this team is done, there is no hear, no one wants to step up, dumb plays everywhere.

the Duke game we may lose by 40.

Heck!  They can't consistently play man against teams who have decent athleticism and passes the ball fairly well.  They were scrambling like they heard the sirens for a tornado drill.

Yo Hardy might be the worst defensive guard in NY

Solution--don't play games on Wednesday nights, the last three were blow outs.  possible cause is that it is a school night and team would rather be studying because with graduation the opportunities for jobs will be in the area of their majors and they are not majoring in basketball.

the game was over at half time and I turned it off as the offensively challenged only stand a chance when they are tough on defense and get to the line and convert FT's.  in the first Gtown game they game up 58 points for the game (last night 40 in the first half) as they were on intersession and had no classes.

the team will have a hard time making the NIT's.  The projected wins over SH (hazell back and look what they did at the dome) and Rotgers are not as certain are they?

as old Brooklyn Dodger fans ( and current Jets fans) would say--"Wait until next year".

Moose, in the other thread, you made a good point. DJ has been... challenged. Really, he's making a number of non-scoring plays, but his defense isn't good enough to support his inability to get good shots off. It's a different offense they're running, so he's not getting to drive to the basket like before but still... he's having a rough Big East season.

The team could have and should have looked better than they did in the last 2 games.

I'll add that Hoya Prospectus' defensive and offensive efficiency tables (http://hoyaprospectus.blogspot.com/2011/01/recap-georgetown-77-st-johns-52.html#more) seem to point out that there's a reason Dwayne Polee isn't getting more minutes. And DJ Kennedy and Brownlee also got scored on.  Granted, I think these are estimations from the box score and play-by-play data, not actual records of blown assignments. But interesting.

I regret that some here have taken to calling some of the current SJU players names.  Uncalled for and out of place on this site.

So they are immune from criticism?

C'mon, you're better than that. Criticism is different than name-calling.  Name-calling is disrespectful. I haven't seen much, so I can't say someone's really gotten out of pocket with it; I think the discussion's been pointed but civil (unless I'm missing something, jayro).

Who is better than that? Me or Jayro?

I responded because I haven't seen much name calling.  I haven't read every thread on this site but I really don't see any insults here.  I am the first to defend players vs. name calling but if they cant play D or look lost on the court its shouldnt be danced around.  It should be noted.

I'm not sure where the name calling is either. I think everyone knows not to do that. However they are certainly subject to criticisms as they are to compliments.

Point taken - I thought you were condoning name-calling as criticism. Apologies for the misunderstanding; that's why I said "you're better than that," you're one of the last people I would expect to start flinging names/ insults around. My bad, man.

Calling them women should be taken as a compliment as the women's team seems to be better.

Pretty much I'm learning to ignore his posts.  I've said it for years prior this fan base is mind boggling and some will never be happy.  We have such a bright future and they are reacting to this year as if we are stuck with Norm and a bunch of 2 star recruits coming in next year.
