Linardi now has us as a 7 seed in Tuscon against Georgia.  The two seed is SDST should we win.

I'll take the 7 seed and run.

I'd like to get up to a 6 and perhaps play one of the first four teams then a  3 seed in the second round.  I would not cry about a 7 seed though.  I'll take a 16 seed if it means this group gets to play a tourney game.

Some more notes from Lunardi:

In his "More Love" insider column he has a blurb on STJ basically saying that our early losses are of little concern now, the big wins we have make us deserving of a single digit seed and that after beating Cinci that should pretty much end our time on the bubble.

Another bracket, another bid for SJU.  At this point, I know we are in (pending we do what we have to do rest of way) but now it is getting fun to look at the different seeds and who people "think" we will play.  Rather than looking and hoping to see our name on these sheets.

Interesting enough, CBS has us as a 6 seed playing VTech and should we win, we would play the Wisc Winner.  How ironic, if this happened.  Play first game against, our "almost coach' and then in the next round(should we win) play the team that beat us the last time we were here.

I would rather play 2 Seed SDST than 3 Seed Wisconsin. I would have nightmares of Wisconsin lighting up the zone and hitting like 15 3s against us.

I agree, we prosper in games where we can run out on fast breaks after turnovers.  Playing those guys would not afford us that luxury.

Win 4 of our last 5 and a tourney game which is entirely possible and we may end up as a 5 or if we beat Pitt a 4 seed

I have a feeling the committee will pair us with Purdue for a chance to get to the sweet 16 because of Keady.  They like creating stories like that.

Lunardi now has us listed 23rd on his S Curve which means we would be a 6 seed. Possible match ups in first round could be Alabama or Baylor.

New bracket by Lunardi has us as a 6 seed playing Memphis with a possible second round match-up with Purdue

This is from the media mock selection committee run by the NCAA the last two days

I will gladly take a 5 seed!

St Johns a 4 seed, Iona a 13 seed to play in DC? Now that would be something

Iona has to win the MAAC...how about Oakland and Larry Wright or Austin Peay and Tyshwan Edmondson who is turning out to be a stud in the Ohio Valley Conference (29 against Fairfield today and averaging 17 for the year)

I still think they will match us up with Purdue.

Unless we keep winning and get off that 6 line

I think the committee will respect our SOS and give us a favorable first round match up.
Iona, I don't think they would be the mid major nightmare many think they would. They don't get after it. Too many prissy players on that team. They'd be out hustled.

Weiss puts out a bracket...he has us as a 6 seed.  I wonder how many games he has actually seen  :)

His top 25 is there and he has us at 17.

The bracket buster weekend that just ended made for some nice competitive games and supplied the mid-major teams involved with some well-deserved exposure.

But success in those interleague games means nothing for conferences seeking to make an impression with the NCAA Tournament selection committee.

I think a 6 seed against a first four team is better than a straight 5 seed.
