Technically speaking

I'm feelin very fortunate that Hollywood's tech then Prez' tech (most likely spurred on by Lavins), didn't wind up costing us the game which they easily could have.  Coaches led to a 5 point play, closely followed by DJ's, completely spoiling what was otherwise a good 1st half for us and giving the Panthers all the momentum heading into the locker room.   Pitt shot 4 for 4 on the techs and only 6 for 14 on normal FT's.

Not the 1st time he had an ill-timed T as Lav's tech way back when in the St. Mary's game probably was a big factor in that loss as we were up 6 and rolling, just had a big momentum play drawing a charge,  then Hollywood incorrectly exploded when Prez caught an inadvertent elbow.  St. Marys hit both tech Ft's cutting the lead to 4 and we never got it back as high as 6 again.  Turning point and momentum lost.

If you wanted to nit pic over Lav's thus far coach of the year worthy performance, dumb techs just might be his achilles heel.

Technically speaking....Lavin wasn't even talking to the ref when he got T'd up.  He was yelling at our players.  Very poor call by the ref.

We just beat the 4th ranked team in the country and you are complaining about a horrible call by the ref which he didn't deserve?

Jesus, you need to get a life.

Also-we were not winning the St. Mary's game, no matter what.

Amazing how some of the folks here know nothing about basketball!!!!!!!

How do you know that?  Were you sitting courtside behind the Johnny bench?

Not complaining.  Commenting on.

I can't argue that.

Up 6 with momentum and a chance to push the lead to 8 or 9 with a boisturous road crowd silenced?  Games have turned on less.

Not amazing at all.  Lotsa folks know virtually nothing about lotsa things.   That away to stand up for your beloved coach of 3 months.  You didn't mean me did you?

Sometimes you need to let the refs know what is happening is BS.  Pitt was in double bonus in the first half yet in the second half they did not get to the bonus FT as we only committed 6--big disparity between halves.  Maybe a little complaining paid dividends.

PS--we won-let's not nit pick

It's a fair point by Carmine to bring it up. He isn't diminishing the game by noticing a detail and with no nitpicking there wouldn't be a forum. It's also okay to disagree with him.
