- The one problem we seem to still have is go on these scoring lapses for 3-5 mins at a time and it's awful

It used to 9-10 minute droughts, so it's a big improvement.

Nova fans were pretty good.  They were not obnoxious at all.  Game was fantastic.
I saw Dave enjoying Beer Pong match before the game.  First time I've seen tailgaiting at a basketball game.  Nice environment.  I also had a good time at Chickie's and Pete's after the game.

All in all, a great day.  I can't wait to see how the crowd bids adieu to this wonderful group of young men.  I really like this team and will be sad to see so many players leaving in the same year.

The Chickie's and Pete's bus driver saw my Mets license plate rim before the game when I was driving to the parking lot, honked his horn at me so I pulled over to let him pass, then he opened his door, pointed to Citizens Bank Park and said "Home of the World Champions"  to which i responded "umm, ok"  even though they haven't won in a few years.  Then he thought I was following him and at a light he got out of his bus and I thought he was gonna shoot me or something and he comes to my window and he goes "I don't want any problems bro, I was just messing with you, I love David Wright, he's an awesome guy!"  It was the strangest thing ever.

No beer pong for me. Just spectating. You should have come over and said hello though. I went to Chickie and Petes after the game for a minute and it was too packed. Had some pizza at the place next door which was good.

Some other observations from the game.

Paris Horne was flat out amazing. He had a rebound off of a FT but the guy jumped over his back, no call. So he D's him up then backs off then charges and the guy throws the ball 10 ft out of bounds. Paris later gets his 1 signature FT rebound and had quite possibly one of the nicest steals I've ever seen at the end of the game.

Brownlee on the perimeter passes it to the post to Justin Burrell who faces up and dishes to Sean Evans cutting weak side for a layup. WOW just WOW. Lav has used this lineup a few times now when DJ gets into foul trouble and I like it for short minutes.

Hustle is contagious. Everyone is getting after loose balls and they must have some sort of incentive for rebounds. Seriously guys are getting after it like crazy. I love the hunger!

I was at the game also and it was a great time. Nova fans were pretty dead until the end. I really liked that stadium and hope to see a flyers rangers game there sometime. Hardy is something else and it was great sitting near Nova fans and getting pissed every time he got an open 3. The "We are St.Johns" chant at the end of the game was great. I think I saw some tears in the Nova fans eyes when they were leaving.

The upper tier at the arena was the steepest that I had ever experienced.  I felt as if I was looking straight down onto the court.  It was a bit disconcerting.

Highlights:

- A gimpy Tim Higgins stepping in to authoritatively overturn the block call by the one clueless ref that refused to call a charge for us all night long.  If you placed a statue on the railroad tracks and a freight train smashes into it breaking it into a million peaces this guy would run out jabbing his hands to his hips yelling "block".  I take back everything bad I've ever said about you Tim.

- The Hilton steal late than toeing the line for the save to Evans.  Has there ever been another player who's official scouting report actually reads "outstanding at late game clutch spinning offensive rebounds off of missed free-throws"?  I think not.

- Ed Hardy pulling up from 35 ft. with confidence with 1 sec. left on the shot clock.  Count It!

- Philly native Evans running out the clock.  Another great outing, 4 - 7,  from the line for Sean. That's good as a 7 - 7 from Prez.

- The 1st class road trip organized by Ed from the Sly Fox.  Good people - Good party - Good basketball.  Great meeting and hanging with my fellow diehards I read daily.

- Hollywood's military salute to the fans in the upperdeck following the "We are...St. John's!" chants.

- Highfiving strangers in red and cheering on the way out of the arena.

Lowlights:

- Broccoli rabe shortage in Philly?  I finally found a sliced pork sandwich but no broc rabe to be found.

- My blackjack play.  I play BJ as well as Depaul plays basketball.

- The own goal by Prez.

I agree, most newer arenas are like this though.  The seats were also very low to the ground, my knees were up to my neck almost haha.
