New ESPN ratings have him list at 31 up from 40.
Awesome! He's not far from the McDonald's All-American #' s
I was thinking the same thing. It's going to be great seeing SJU landing some McD's AAs
In SJ's history, we've had our share, but I predict coach and the staff will eventually be landing McAA's at a similar rate to the schools that historically have the lion's share of McDAAs such as NC, Duke, UCLA, Kentucky, and a few others. We'll go from 2nd tier up towards the top tier.
Possibly, but I'm not so sure. In 7 years at UCLA, Steve signed Baron Davis, Dan Gadzuric, JaRon Rush, Ray Young, Jason Kapono, Ced Bozeman and Evan Burns (whom the NCAA stopped from playing at UCLA). 7 in 7 years. And remember, his mentor (and advisor on this team) Gene Keady coached his way to the hall of fame at Purdue while nabbing only FIVE McDs in a quarter Century (Russell Cross, Troy Lewis, Kip Jones, Glenn Robinson and Michael Robinson).
One thing to remember about the rate of McDs at Duke and UNC, etc, is the number that are McDs only BECAUSE they were signed by those schools. Neil Fingleton? Michael Thompson? Eric Boateng? Taymon Domzalski? Greg Koubek? Serge Zwicker? Vasco Evtimov?
A lot of superior players have been displaced by tobacco road recruits over the years....
