I was over the loss and my night seemed to be heading in a good direction and then I got this news.

So upsetting to see someone who gave his heart and soul to this team to be on the cusp of being a part of the first tournament game for the Johnnies in a long time and boom its taken away from him.

I wish DJ the best of luck on a speedy recovery and hope his teammates can rally around him and put up a strong showing in the tournament.

If it does, those members of the committee should be beaten to death.

They have always done this. Cincy lost a #1 seed when Kenyon Martin got hurt. Purdue dropped down when Hummell got hurt. It is a fact of life.
Team has to play better if it wants to accomplish anything. Loss of DJ will hurt but team has not played well these last 4 games.

Bottom line is this sucks for DJ.

Joe Lunardi has us now as a six seed, playing in the Southeast (New Orleans) Region.

This morning Joe Lunardi has St. John's a 6th seed.  I think we dropped a extra line because of the injury to D.J.

I thought that overall we played well yesterday. SU got a boost from their freshman center. He did nothing all year, but the game of his life against us. He plays like he did in Feb, we win. Just rotten luck. It also hurts us that Coker hasn't developed into a D1 player. We could have really used him yesterday.

Martin was going to be the 1 or 2 pick in the entire Nba draft and Prez, although terrific, is our third option.  Not comparable.  Seeding should not be affected at all.

I thought they played very well and certainly passionately last night.  Scored 73 against the vaunted 2 3 and were still in it in the final minute.  Poor FT shooting/getting out shot from the line did us in.  I was proud of the effort against a very strong team and the 2011 BE tournament champion.

Of course all of this takes a way back seat to the  horrific news about DJ's knee.

This sucks for everybody associated with the team.

Damn, sorry DJ! Solid 4 years, thanks for helping rebuild!

IF DJ was having the year he had last season, you would think it would affect the seeding a bit more

Not sure if this got posted in another thread but how can you not like DJ after reading this. I really feel bad for the guy and wish him the best. I think the Johnnies will rally around this injury and really step up in the tournament. Gottlieb has us in the sweet 16. Finally someone believes and knows how good we can be.2

I called SJU to the Sweet 16 back in December, MJdinkins will vouch for that
