SJU Skills Camp

Mark your calendar, June 4th.

HUge success last year when players like JaKarr Sampson and Norvel Pelle along with Jevon Thomas and Kyle Anderson participated.  Even guys who went elsewhere like Sledge and Myles Mack raved about it.

Be interesting to see the '12, '13 and '14 targets that may come.  Can anyone say Ricardo Gathers?

Seems like an awesome camp and it was a huge success last year...Wasn't that where Harkless really started to like St. John's and had an incredible camp where he really hit it off with Coach Dunlap?

I forgot Harkless and he was still committed to UCONN at the time.

Hey all, figured I would start a thread on the skills camp because it was very successful for St. John's last year. I thought I read in another post that it will be taking place in early June 2011.

If anyone hears of players attending, we can post them here on this thread.

Very happy to see this camp happening again. was a great tool for our staff to recruit. Hopefully Jordan Washington is attending.

I was actually going to post a list of locals that I hoped would attend. He is one of the guys on the top of my list.

Good call on Washington.

Aren't these the open camps, not the elite skills camp that the major players came to last year?

There are multiple camps throughout the summer.

The Skills Camp though is the one for ages 14-18 and is where many of the prominent 2012-13-14 kids both in the area and around the country are allowed to attend.

On their own dime I might add.

Alex Kline is tweeting about several players attending today. He keeps referring to it as an elite camp but it is actually called the skills camp.

Keith Allen, a 2013 guard for the NYC Metro Hawks, is attending St. John's elite camp today.

2013 guard Diamonte Zarba of the NY Gauchos is attending St. John's elite camp today.

2013 PG Kahlil Dukes of CBC (CT) received interest from Penn today, as well as an invite to St. John's Basketball camp.
