Just turned on the game.  Thanks for the heads up.  One thing is for sure.  Physically, Pointer is ready to go.  He is a man.

Pointer really bothered Teague on the defensive end for a couple of possessions.  He also can handle better than I expected...in both all star games he gets the rebound and is immediately looking up court.  He then gives the ball up right away instead of dribbling it all the way like most guys do.

None of our guys are elite but I think it will be a pretty decent next year and they will definitely be fun to watch.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

My son and I (he's 9 years old) went to the game on last night.  We got there around the last 7 minutes of the regional game.  I had a brief opportunity to see Uchebo.  He showed the ability to carve out space on the offensive and defensive end while I watched.  I can't recall him scoring while watching the waning moments of the game.  I do recall him fouling out with about a minute left in the game.  I think he'll certainly make some coach happy whomever he signs with in the last period.

I'm sure most of you watched the game, so no need to go into a spill about it.  I do believe Pointer got shafted on minutes in the 2nd half.  He was hounding his defender, as it was a meaningful game.  I like his tenaciousness and fight.  We got us a"keeper."

I had a good chuckle during introductions.  The player introductions were done via the overhead jumbotron.  It was a recording of Chris Paul (who introduced the West squad) and Carmelo Anthony (who introduced the East team).  UNC fans (there were plentiful) booed Austin Rivers like the dickens.  LOL   There was also a fairly decent contingent of Kentucky fans.  Many of 'em sitting in a section with one another.  A few of 'em (right outside of this particular section) were family members of Anthony Davis and Michael Gilchrist.

I had the pleasure of a handful of UNC fans sitting behind me.  Let's say outside of the UNC recruits they didn't really have an idea about most of the other players.  I heard one guy sitting beside them ask, "Is Gilchrist headed to Duke?"  One of 'em said, "I don't know where these guys are headed."  So, I intervened and said, "Gilchrist is going to Kentucky."  You would hear, "There he goes," whenever a UNC recruit touched the ball.  Clowns!  LOL

I also saw some familiar faces in the crowd.  I saw Allan Houston, "World Wide" Wes, Harrison Barnes, Jeff Teague (at least, he looked just lik him) and for some of the old, hip-hop fans, Lil' Tigger.  I was wondering how Teague was there, considering the Hawks had a game on yesterday evening.  The guy surely looked like him.  I saw he didn't play on last night, so it might've been him.

We also ran into John Wall in the parking lot (standing a few feet away from my vehicle).  Briefly, spoke with him and moseyed on our way.  That brought a lil' smile to my son's face.  LOL

All in all, we had a good time and my son thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Sounds like a good time MJ.  I'll be down in Charlotte in a few weeks, unfortunately the timing didn't work out to see this game live.

Once Pointer got the rebound he had to dribble the length of the court, especially since he rarely got a pass. Shows he can penetrate with some quickness. I payed particular attention to his efforts on defense. Strong kid.

When I saw him play at Baruch he struggled bringing the ball up the court.  Could have just been an off game, but I don't think we want he pushing the ball up the court next year.  With that said, I love the kid.  His energy is awesome.  I have a feeling he will be people's favorite player in next years class when all is said and done.

Didn't get much PT, played some solid d but 2 of his drives to basket resulted in long underhand scoop shots that were blocked. That said I love him as a recruit and he shapes up to be my favorite new Johnny-if not maybe Pelle if he plays hard all the time-or maybe Harkless who is if not smooth as silk as smooth as Jamal Wilkes-or D Harrison the next Earl the Pearl Monroe if he lights it up from 3-or J Sampson if he plays up to his namesake!

Pointer - by my count - had 5 maybe six rebounds and 3 steals with another "almost." Except for the one occasion referred to above he dished the ball almost as soon as he got the rebound. His long two-handed over-the-head lead pass towards the end of the game was like a soccer throw-in and right on target.

He's one of the few new Johnnies who brings a BE body with him to Union Turnpike.

Pointer's hair - with the Jordan logo emblazoned on it - was reminiscent of Anthony Mason and the sculptured statements he used to embroider his "do" with.

Once saw Mase Sr. at the Garden with young Mase after the latter had committed to SJU and asked the big guy to throw one of his Medusa-like stares at my son and I - and he obliged. Still terrifying.
