And there was a post the other day by Gonzalo about Burrell about to have a workout in front of 20 NBA teams. All he has to do is impress the right person there and he may just get his shot at the NBA. If not, he makes money overseas and comes home with a hot ass European or Asian wife. Not bad for a guy who took a ton of shit from posters on all three St. John's boards.

Not sure what Evans is up to, but he should takes his one year of football eligibility and get a year of grad school under his belt.

Evans tweeted he was working out in front of NBA scouts for the 1st time the other day.
A lot of them saw him in the past but he lost a half a year in his senior season.  Then it was double doubles at the end of the year despite the lack of run.  He deserved better and all he got was the game ball vs Duke.  Lavin did a great job in most aspects but we lost a couple we wouldn't have w/o Evans and it affected our seeding.  I'd wish him the best wayyyyy before Polee and noone has gone to the trouble.

Your infatution with Evans is bordering on creepy now.

I agree, just not sure that is necessarily worse than the pitiful that preceded it.  ; )
I guess you don't remember the Fordham and Bonnie games.  Lavin finally figured it out and Evans produced.  Too bad some of the posters still haven't given him his due.  Now THAT'S creepy.

I think you need to read this until you fully understand its a two way street.  Nobody here wanted Sean to fail.   It just took him awhile to 'get it'.  We're all happy he did.  You don't realize any of that and continue to operate in a bubble where you think its you and Sean vs. the world.

When you think about it, Polee was the most valuable high school player in Los Angeles. Question, after seeing him for a year, did he really warrant that title?

You'd sorta hafta to have seen him in high school, no?   The award was most Valuable Player in LA, not best College prospect (two completely different things.  He also won a couple "California HS Player of the Year" awards.  Same deal - NOT best major college prospect in California).  He was the star player on a team that won the freaking state Championship in the highest HS division.  So, yeah.  You'd kinda figure the title was warranted.....

Sean was dumped on immercifully on Redmen.com.  Your statement that nobody wanted him to fail is just plain inaccurate.  Plenty wanted him benched and totally dismissed the good things he did.  After averaging better than 10 and 7 as a soph that sucked.  I've never seen a quality 4 year player get less love than him.  Lavin said his comeback was one of his personal high points and posters are still riding him (and me).

Did his workout consist of pushups or sit ups?

Celtics 11 - Are you a St. John's fan?  If so do you root for our players?

Just my unbiased opinion that Evans will not even sniff a cup of coffee in the NBA. Just because I am a ST J fan does not mean my opinions have to be that Dele Coker will turn out to be the next Shaq O'Neil. I can not help it if you have had a love affair with Sean ever since you laided eyes on him. I hope the kid is successful and happy with everything he does in his life and if that means basketball i hope he makes as much money as possible i just don't believe it will be in the NBA.

I don't think he actually lands in LA. I'm going with San Diego State or St. Mary's.

It doesn't take a genius to think that Sean would be a long shot to make the league.  The question was whether you root for him and why you still feel the need to mock him now that his career is over.  Real fans don't do that.

Were you one the guys with crow feathers in your teeth when Cjac made it?  I hear they can be very bitter.  I'll give you a hint - back them all.  Strange things happen.  If Evans gets lucky a lot of guys wind up looking stupid.

So wait.  Are you saying you predicted that Cedric would make it when he was at STJ?  I find that hard to believe.  Is 12 games in the NBA 'making it'?  And judging by his first two years at STJ I think anyone who thought he would 'make it' would be subjected to drug tests.

And for what seems like the 8955th time.  I wish Sean nothing but the best.  Everyone (I REPEAT) EVERYONE here I'm sure wishes him the best and if he makes the NBA great, you can rub it in all our faces.  It baffles me how you think we all sit here and want nothing good to happen for him.  I know your not related to Sean but your affinity for him is truly a head scratcher.  I can't think of any similar career path for someone in the NBA you can compare him to.  I encourage you to try.

What a great Polee thread this is.

So stop saying what I say is nutty and creepy and white about Polee.  I said what I felt about him and some agreed.  It was different from all the well-wishes.  The likes of which Evans never got.  Now THAT's nutty.  He was going to transfer out and chose to stick it out to his own detriment.  I find guys goofing on his workouts at this point creepy.  But that's just me.  Can't find what I said about Cedric any more but I'll bet Mike Maher remembers.

What annoys me is that two loya, long suffering seniors, Evans and Burrell both lost time to Polee.  Then, at the first sign of a little competition and adversity he goes running back to his Daddy in Cali.  Pretty selfish and spineless to me.  He could have at least given it a year and seen how it worked out.  Instead two of our seniors had they're cereers derailed.  I don't wish him or his father well.  If he's really NBA material he's going to have to prove it somewhere and it's not going to be handed to him like Daddy wants.  We'll be fine.  Don't much care about him.

All it is isa sign we have a pretty awesome class coming in that polee didnt think hed be able to show he was a top five player, imo.   No need to get your thong all in a twist over it.

Bobre-as the strong supporter of Sean, do you know what he is up to?  Is he pursuing roundball dreams or will try to play football for a year like the Duke player did at Syracuse?

Haven't heard anything about Sean playing football.  If he'd have sat out last season though there are any number of programs where he would have gotten 30+ mpg this year.  That might have changed his story considerably.  I just think we should be worrying about guys who stuck it out at SJU rather than Polee.  Haven't heard too many questions about DJ lately either.  Remember him????
