2011/2012 Roster only 10 players

It's looking like Pelle may prep per Twitter reports.  With no real center and 9 guys, we may very well have a problem.

Doesn't have to be out for the year.  Just a couple weekends in a row shorthanded at the wrong time could be the difference between winning 3 of 4 and losing 3 of 4 - and THAT could be difference between NIT and NCAA....

I think we need to see really what type of teams Lavin wants.  Last year while successful and fun might not be a good indicator because he wasn't using his parts.  Maybe in the system he wants this is the type of size he and the staff want?

Very few teams play even 10 guys; a non-issue. We actually have enough quality players albeit it young ones to absorb some bad luck, injuries, non-commits, etc.

I hope anyone on campus can tell us next week who is there ?

Some of these kids still have to graduate HS.  Doesn't HS still go into June?

Yep- my bad.

July 7 is start of 2nd summer session- guess we have to wait till then.
Until then... Stith & Gift will have to play 1 on 1..

Until all 10 are on campus, I'm slightly concerned.
A lot of things can happen when 9 new guys are coming in.

But I hope staff is in contact with all the incoming players re eligibility.
If with the exception of Nuri's summer classes, they know already
 that all are qualified, then yes 10 could be enough.

I don't care what system you're running we need more size.  We are light up front.  Sampson, Pelle, and Achiuwa...what if an injury happens or simply foul trouble.  We can survive short spurts but going through the Big East I'm not so sure.  Lavin has elected to wait until 2012.  I don't blame him if he thinks he can get a much greater talent but it will leave us short for next year.  It may not be a problem but it certainly reason enough to be concerned going into next year.

What lead you to believe that Lavin is waiting for anythink in 2012. His history is one of winning now not one of postponing the present for the future. Look like you are not sure about Steve.

I'm way north of Pelle, but San Francisco ended school yesterday. If most of California is similar then he may be done.

Yeah I can only speak to northeast but I know northeast would go into June but other parts of the country would be out earlier.

They will be fine trust me!!!

We were all concerned about saving scholarships for 2012 class. (Jevon, Anderson Gathers etc.)
But with Polee leaving- down to 10. And even if MoMo
or Harrow were to have come it was to play in 2012.

We are 2 injuries/ non qualifiers away from a very very short roster.
A 5th year Graduating senior (I read about that exception) would be perfect.
If not, I wonder if staff is still looking for a very late 2011 addittion (JC?)

I love lavin, but he recruited 3 kids that were unbelievably careless. Now, we have the size of a D3 school.
If Lindsey, Harkless, Harrison, Pointer, Greene, Stith and Gift aren't Barkley, Postell, Gray, Jessie, Glover, Emanuel and Bootsy
we are going to get housed in the BE, and we could actually have match up problems with mid majors.
